  1. Still for sale. Sorry for my lack of presence on Auszcar lately, have been incredibly flat out. I still love all most of you guys
  2. Thanks Peter, yeah this thread is a bit redundant as there is a wealth of info out there already for this conversion (which I used when doing my conversion). I do have plenty of pics though so I should be able to do a writeup that is fairly step by step for the less mechanically minded people such as myself Especially when it comes to the pulling apart and assembling of the gearbox. Also Casey has just informed me that his 71 has different gearbox mounts to the 73 version. I think the 73 version has the same setup that was used in the 260z's so this bracket above should be suitable for them. No I just have to find the time to flesh this thread out :S
  3. Turns out I can't read and ordered a polished clutch master cylinder for a 280zx instead of a 240z, so here it is for sale. Brand new with billet/polished cap too, pics really don't do it justice. $120 <a href="http://www.shaun-maluga.com/Images/Z/ForSale/280zxClutchMasterl.jpg"><img src="http://www.shaun-maluga.com/Images/Z/ForSale/280zxClutchMasterSmall.jpg"></a> Cheers Sushi
  4. Hey mate, how much couriered to Brisbane?
  5. Back for sale again after crappy ebay buyer has fallen through, surprise surprise $3000 ono
  6. Added a pic of the machined bellhousing, if you click on it it will enlarge to full size and you can see where the surface has been machined down. I will upload an image with the cut/machined areas highlighted and measurements etc when I get a chance.
  7. <space saver> Machined Z Bellhousing <a href="http://www.shaun-maluga.com/Images/Z/24tzd/S14GearboxConversion/Z_Bellhousing.jpg"><img src="http://www.shaun-maluga.com/Images/Z/24tzd/S14GearboxConversion/Z_Bellhousing_Small.jpg"></a>
  8. Hi guys, a couple of years ago now we put a S14 gearbox into my 1973 240z. I tell everyone I talk to that it is the best thing I have done to the car (for a street driven car). I took a heap of photos when doing it and I will do a bit of a write up (from what I remember) when I get a chance, but for now here are a few pics of the gearbox cross member mount that I am uploading for Casey who is currently doing the transplant. Not many of the tutorials mention the modifications required for the bracket or if they do they pass it off as a simple mod. But I think to do this to an engineer certified, roadworthy state, it is not a simple job. The s14 gearbox is slightly longer than the 240z box and as a result the rear mount sits about 35mm(? I'll have to check this) further back. I think some of the tutorials tell you to weld on a tab to bolt into which is probably fine in the US but I'm not sure how it would go in Australia. To resolve this my old man decided to make up the crossmember bracket from scratch but instead if it being straight, it has a bend in it putting the bolt hole further back. I'll upload a scan of the plans with measurements as the photo isn't very clear but here they are anyway: Original 240z Gearbox Crossmember http://www.shaun-maluga.com/Images/Z/24tzd/S14GearboxConversion/Original_240z_Gbox_Mount_Small.jpg <a href="http://www.shaun-maluga.com/Images/Z/24tzd/S14GearboxConversion/Original_240z_Gbox_Mount.jpg"><img src="http://www.shaun-maluga.com/Images/Z/24tzd/S14GearboxConversion/Original_240z_Gbox_Mount_Small.jpg"></a> New S14 Crossmember Plans <a href="http://www.shaun-maluga.com/Images/Z/24tzd/S14GearboxConversion/S14_Gearbox_Mount_Plan.jpg"><img src="http://www.shaun-maluga.com/Images/Z/24tzd/S14GearboxConversion/S14_Gearbox_Mount_Plan_Small.jpg"></a> Making S14 Crossmember <a href="http://www.shaun-maluga.com/Images/Z/24tzd/S14GearboxConversion/Making_S14_Gbox_Mount.jpg"><img src="http://www.shaun-maluga.com/Images/Z/24tzd/S14GearboxConversion/Making_S14_Gbox_Mount_Small.jpg"></a> Finished S14 Crossmember <a href="http://www.shaun-maluga.com/Images/Z/24tzd/S14GearboxConversion/S14_Gbox_Mount_Finished_1.jpg"><img src="http://www.shaun-maluga.com/Images/Z/24tzd/S14GearboxConversion/S14_Gbox_Mount_Finished_1_Small.jpg"></a> Finished S14 Crossmember <a href="http://www.shaun-maluga.com/Images/Z/24tzd/S14GearboxConversion/S14_Gbox_Mount_Finished_2.jpg"><img src="http://www.shaun-maluga.com/Images/Z/24tzd/S14GearboxConversion/S14_Gbox_Mount_Finished_2_Small.jpg"></a> S14 Crossmember In Car <a href="http://www.shaun-maluga.com/Images/Z/24tzd/S14GearboxConversion/S14_Gearbox_In_Car.jpg"><img src="http://www.shaun-maluga.com/Images/Z/24tzd/S14GearboxConversion/S14_Gearbox_In_Car_Small.jpg"></a>
  9. And I have had issues over at HybridZ due to my post count. I would frequent the site but never really contribute as I felt those guys were far more technical than I. Then I came to post something (can't remember what section/for) and couldn't due to my post count. I felt like a member as I had signed up years ago and regularly visited the site but as I hadn't actually contributed enough information to the site I was excluded.
  10. It is a terrible shame what happened to Peter but I'm affraid people were being robbed well before the internet, both by random crimes of opportunity and by calculating and informed individuals. Sure, there is a fairly good chance that someone got information from this forum but there is an equally as good chance that they did not. This quickly escalated into a witch hunt and we are starting to burn the forum before checking whether it floats. I think a small locked section could be good for a LIMITED number of posts/things but it's simple, if we start restricting the quality and accesibility of information on the site, less people are going to come here and less people will be bothered sticking around. The value of this site is directly related to its content which is directly related to its member base. Forming tight friendships with a select few is a nice biproduct of the site, but this is not a chat room for a small group of clicky people who have passed the initiation test. It should be a place to inform and entertain and bring together people with a common love of cars (or a common sense of boredom at work ). Just be smart with what you post in any online community, lock the doors and take out some insurance! (not saying that Peter didn't do any of these things)
  11. Looking good Greg, nice work on the demister too I'm working on a little present for you when you get that dash complete
  12. All parts sold, I will get them together this weekend and organise postage etc. Cars still for sale on ebay @ $2000 ending tomorrow
  13. Springs sold pending payment. Sorry neRok, there are 2 people that have msg'd me about the springs before you. I will let you know if they sale falls through. Payment received for door cards Cheers Shaun
  14. Carbs and door cards sold pending payment. Gav is 2nd in line for Door Cards if sale falls through. Sco-aus, what diff are you referring to? I don't have any for sale anyway but maybe that was directed at galderdi?
  15. Thanks for the recommendation on e-go guys. According to that site, about $37ish to post the door cards to Vic. So if you are happy and confident with them Jimbo we can go with them. Ah Greg did you have 'cope' instead of code until you modified your message? I was looking for this cope number but couldn't find any info haha. The springs are KDFL-04 and KDRS-09. Not going to sell the diff thanks Greg, that's still for the car up in Gladstone. But I should get it out of your hair, so if youa re driving past one weekend then feel free to drop it in or I can make the trek out to yours once uni is over for the semester. Bob, I'll put you down as 2nd bid on the springs. Gilltech I'll put you down as second behind WA240z for the carbs.
  16. Just listed on ebay starting at $2000 no reserve.
  17. Hey Jimbo, jsut checked out the AusPost website and it says that items longer than 105cm can not be posted. So might have to find another way. If you wanted to try and find some quotes I have the boxes that my new cards when sent in. The 2 boxes together would be 1200mm x 600mm x 100mm and at a guess 2-5 kgs total? My company works with Pack & Send on a regular basis. I'll give them a call on Monday and see what they can do it for. Cheers Shaun
  18. Hi guys, got a few parts for sale. Reply or pm if you are interested, first in best dressed. All items available for pickup from Northside of Brisbane or can be posted at your expense. SOLD Brand New Lowered King Springs suit 260z 2+2 - $180 SOLD Round Top 3 Screw SU Carbs - $280 These are the sought after round top 240z carbs, great for replacing the old boat anchors on your 260z. Very tidy, the plating on the linkages is quite shiny still. I would recomend a rebuild kit as I would for any 2nd hand pair of carbs, it looks like the fuel hose that goes from the bowl to the bottom of the carb is a bit perished on one side. SOLD 240z Door Cards/Trim - $280 These have been on my Yellow 240z and have not looked out of place. I jumped on the bandwagon and got some new door skins from Nissan (wanted to get in before they sold out). There is a small hole on the drivers side panel but otherwise look to be in great condition. I believe these were originally tan but were painted with vinyl paint by the previous owner. In my 4 years of ownership I never even noticed :S *This is just the actual vinyl door card, arm rests window window and handles etc not included. Also my old 260z daily driver and shell are still for sale: http://www.viczcar.com/forum/index.php?topic=8326.0 I have just started it on ebay for $2000 http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=140559963064 Cheers Shaun
  19. Ahh I have been following the HybridZ thread with the guy making that one. A lot of attention paid to the lines of the car. IMHO I think it looks a touch too big from the lower rear view but looks pretty damn nice from every other one.
  20. Is that this Saturday Matt? I would love to come along but I'm too far behind with uni assignments :s If it's in a couple of weeks time I could make it. Would be good to have a drink with old Lurchos
  21. Boc Mig ending in 4 hours in Melbourne http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=120723645621&ssPageName=ADME:B:WNA:AU:1123
  22. I think in one of the seasons of 'Rides' there was an episode on a shop in America that makes 800+hp Eleanors. Was a pretty good episode form memory.
  23. Oh and obviously both cars are still for sale together.
