  1. Haha that is nuts! And something that is nuts in a different way: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rWscUoRLxHo&feature=related
  2. Hi guys, here is a current quote (as of March 2012) for all of the poly parts that SuperPro list for the 240z from Fulcrum Suspension in Browns Plains QLD. Ie Rear Control Arm Bushes, sway bar etc? I will compile a list of the parts from one of the other Poly suppliers to fill in the blanks. Cheers
  3. Sounds kinda cool to me, so long as it is done right and ties in with the rest of the interior (i.e don't over do it). But if your diamond vinyl is in good condition you might be shot by some people
  4. haha yes I'm alive... barely. SOLD pending payment
  5. Sorry guys, been in Hong Kong. Back now, let me know if you want to come around and have a look. Cheers
  6. yep still have it, pm sent
  7. Hey Hunter, did you ever get a response from Woza with the bracket file? If we can't get one I might cad one up soon so long as 1) Woza's not making them anymore (which seems to be the case) or 2) Woza still wants to make them and doesn't mind. Edit: just read some of Woza's more recent posts about the handbrake not holding too well and constantly needing adjusting so might head down a different route. Will probably start a new thread soon
  8. Dammit I had something on this day but it got cancelled so turns out I could have made it Looks like a fairly good turnout
  9. Also Garvice on here and HybridZ modified his tacho using transparencies etc http://forums.hybridz.org/index.php/topic/86016-vdo-tacho-original-type-face/
  10. I can print on aluminium and I have been meaning to make some custom gauge faceplates that fit into the stock housings but it's on my extraordinarily long list of things to do. If you were serious and prepared to pay I could move it to the top of the list...
  11. Interested to see how you go with this Roberto, certain year models are hard to find new. I believe there is a difference from the early 240z to the end of 72/73 240z's. I have read about people bending some wire inside a straight hose to get the bends but would be interested to see what people have come up with...
  12. Hey mate, sorry about the late reply (internet at home is not working). PM sent
  13. Bad news for me, can't do the 25th. Next run maybe
  14. My dad bought one of the yellow 35th anniversary 350z with incredibly low klms (about 2 or 3k I think?). He loves it to bits and is maintaining it so that he can hand down a low klm 350z to me someday. I keep telling him it won't be worth anything so he should just drive it and enjoy it now, but he said he does love it and it just makes it special when he takes it out for the odd sunday drive here and there. Perhaps there will be some value in an "original" low klm 350z as many have crazy body kits and get modded etc. but I don't expect it will ever be worth more than what he paid for it. I think the shape of the actual design has a big part to play, as it has to date well. The fact that the 350z doesn't look like every other car on the road will help, but that doesn't mean it will still look good in 10,20 or 30 years. However I still look forward to the day that I get an umolestered pearl yellow 350z with less then 50 000 klms on it. With all things "retro" you need a certain amount of time to pass to appreciate them again. I think boxy cars from the 80's are just starting to look kind of cool again whereas I couldn't stand the look of the z31 when I first got my 260z. However I believe the point about popular or dream cars from peoples youth are the ones that become the collectible cars once that generation matures, and then I guess they lose value once that generation gets on. I am always surprised at how cheap restored cars are from the 1920's-1950's. But then again you have some of the mercs and Aston martins and BMW's that are worth hundreds of thousands. It seems that most of these are tied to either the scarcity of them and/or the racing pedigree behind them. I suppose things like the r32/33/34 skylines will become a collectable as they have that kind of 'legend' status in peoples mind for whatever reason. I personally don't like the look of them and never have. But I think they have that tough, almost myth like reputation that people will want to relive one day. Again trying to find one that hasn't been horrifically modified will probably help increase the price of them. For me, I don't ever plan to sell my 240z, I've heard far too many stories of regret for that to happen. Hahahaha that is by far the best post ever on this forum. We need to do yearly awards or something
  15. Welcome mate, I really like your "theoretical" discussions, especially the recent one of Looking into the future. I think this a good way to see how people view/interact with their cars and why they have them. No one has chosen a Z because it was convenient so it is good to see people's motivations and interests. Keep em coming
  16. Rust inside guards Pictures from the old owners thread (note that the guards and bonnet and wing pictured are not included with the car):
  17. Hi guys, need to clear out under my house so my 2+2 shell is for sale. The previous owner was doing the car up for himself and fixed the majority of the rust before giving up. As you can see in the picture the engine bay has been finished in black, the rest of the car is in old primer. Almost rust free... You can see where the rust repairs have been done in the rear guards, hatch etc. The only rust I have seen is a small patch around the taillight holes in the rear panel and a small bit on top of the sill on the passenger side where the door rubber pushes on. The car can be wheelbarrowed around as it has the rear suspension and r200 diff etc. Besides that it comes with some front guards (minor rust on the inner skin) and I believe the doors are included (however they are not very straight and haven't had the rust done). $400 and can be picked up from Northside of Brisbane. Get in quick otherwise it is getting cut up for rust replacement panels. PM me or reply here if you are interested. Cheers Sushi
  18. Histrix are sex on umm rails about $2000-$2500 each. If I'm rich and build another 240z at some point I'll be getting these
  19. Sounds like a good night. Just trying to sort out dates but my dad and I might come with a 350z and 240z. I will let you know when we have confirmed for sure

  24. in I think this is the best example of it. So good I actually paid far too much money for a set of these to put on my white bus before I sold it. I might still put it on my project car at home but I do have a brand new set of 260z tail lights that I might use as well... decisions decisions
