  5. what sound were you thinking of putting in?
  6. i made a tool on the lathe a few weeks back when i took my clutch out. It worked perfectly alowing the gearbox to go back in easier than it came out. You are welcome to use it if you would like.
  7. all you have to do is disconect the clutch rod through 4 bolts to put the dust seal on the clutch fork. 5 minutes tops.
  8. im pretty sure the old lady got my dust cover from essendon nissan.
  9. that rubber is a dust cover that prevents dirt and stuff flying into the gearbox. mine was split and it had filled up the gearbox with dirt, replaced it today. If that clutch rod has snapped as gav said,it wont push the cltc fork as far and wont engage/disengage? the clutch to the normal extent. My clutch problems were fixed tonight by fabricating an adjustable clutch rod, as the 260s had, to adjust for slight clutch plate wear. Hope my little knowlege comes of use.
  10. i agree with gav, i have clutch problems in my car, most of them are due to the clutch system meaning to allow for a worn clutch plate. I think problems with the throw out bearing would be very noisy. But that clutch fork can be problematic. Best bet is to investigate further there i think.
  11. I can't understand how the valve saver fluid would cause it to run badly, even if the valve seats don't need it. Mine seems to run nicely with it.
  12. windscreens O'Brien charged me $130 for a new windscreen, which was covered by my insurance which allows me 1 free windscreen a year.
  13. I accidentally drilled some holes into my doors for my sound system, I was a little shattered afterwards. But I should have thought more possitively, the car's a speed demon now that I offed that extra weight lol.
  14. But just think how fast you would be if you weighed 67 kg.
  15. me for one! thanks nato
  16. Yeah, Ive got a heap of play in my steering on my 240. I've just put it down to design of the rack.
  17. i got my original ones completely redone....exactly like that, with new cushon, new material, and they painted all the mechanicals up like new, total cost was $420 deluxe motor trimming, Deer Park. 9363 1640 good to deal with and flawless work. cheers, Jack.
  18. Thanks Warren, Thats the setup ive stuck to, it was just the "advice" from zshop that threw me off a bit. Unluckily my fuel pump has just ceased on me anyway, so fuels not an issue for a couple of days lol., Thanks, Jack.
  19. Hate to dredge up an old topic, but after running my worked L24 E88 on unleaded with valve saver fluid for the last few weeks, I noticed that my car was running on after I shut it off, thinking that this was carbon build up, I thought it would go away. But after going to Lindsay at Zshop, he told me my problem would be solved by premium unleaded due to the shaved head, cam from hell and whatnot on my L24, but he said that lead shots were not nesscessary. I'm not able to find out what exact modifications were made to my engine when it was reco'd a few years back, i'm sure you will all notice at the meeting that it definately isn't stock. Just wondering what lead replacement would be nesscessary assuming the engine hasn't been reconditioned for unleaded. Were 240's originally made for leaded fuel? Cheers, Jack.
  20. are you planning to make a video of this meet sulio?
  21. Im also looking for the original mirrors, so maybe this is a common parts extinction. Although I know that Nissan had them for heaps....
  22. Yes, but for a hefty cost. And by the way....never trust Scotts' Glue.
  23. Because nobody on this forum has enough fake-tan to fit in there
  24. Got my P's so I'm in for sure.
