  1. Just quoted $1500 from ZShop to fill in and respray. They were gonna get another roof off a 240 and fit that. Would be very interested to find the name of that panel beater that filled it in for $700. Thanks for your replies. Jack.

    Extractor options?

yeah, from memory my inlet manifold covers the headers.
  3. Just come back from the custom sunroof place, found out that they don't have a sunroof big enough to fill the whole my previous owner cut in the roof of my zed. Just wondering what ideas everyone has on filling it in. I'm not keen on a sunroof, but the biggest problem with welding more roof on is my fresh paint job. Does anyone knoe of a place that would do this repair and any approximate costs. Will be interseted to hear everybody's thoughts. Cheers, Jack.
  4. Yeah, I'm after some headlights for my 240. Are these interchangable with 260? And does anyone know the difference between the front bumper on the 240 and 260. Cheers, Jack.
  5. Had mine done in Deer Park by Deluxe Motor Trimming. Look great in black vinil for $220 a seat, lucky I've only got two . Would recommend to all, quick, cheap and super job. JP.

    window mechanism

Whilst on this topic, does anyone know what I should do if my drivers window doesn't sit flush at the top rear when I wind it up. Tried loosening bolts holding it to the frame. Can't get it to move enough. Any ideas would be great. JP

Is this rear bumper 240 or 260?
  9. I have just put the windows in on my 240, wondering where is the best place to go for rubber seals, all will need replacing except front and rear window seals. Thanks, JP.
  10. Yeah, had a good look in the book and realised that the throttle cable I had was for something completely different. Pictures would be very helpful thanks Warren, as I might be able to see excatly what to look for in my six boxes of spares. Sorry about the stuff around. Thanks for your replies. PROGRESS REPORT > Carpets in. > Vinil in. > Glass, headlining, sunroof and throttle linkage still to be done. > Car sounds nice. Cheers, Jack.
  11. I was just wondering where the throttle cable runs on a 240 fitted with twin SU roundtops, as I think mine is fitted with a non-standard cable, need to know where it goes between the drivers side foot wells and the bracket that attaches to linkage between carbs. PS. I hope this thread is in the right section. :? Thanks, JP
  12. Had some difficulty with Vinil. The stock diamonds are 2.5 inches by 1.5, But the smallest possible that they could make was 3 by 3. Cost $35, Picking it up on Monday. Putting the Vinil in on Thursday as well as carpets as I got Automotive underlay for free yesterday and my carpet kit came in on Tuesday. Cheers, Jack.
  13. I also had a similiar problem with my 240, I investigated through VicRoads and discovered that it could be registered fairly easily without ID/Compliance plate by obtaining a stat. dec from previous owner/s. But recently found the plate in one of the many boxes of spares. Cheers, Jack.
  14. Will do, Should be about 2 weeks. Cheers, Jack
  15. They do actually weld the vinil, as they use vinil with a special material on the back of it so it doesn't melt when welding. I'll get back to you with the results once I've had it done, but from the samples I've seen it should be exactly as the original black ninil I have covering wheel arches etc. Cheers, Jack.
  16. Thanks for your replies, I found a place that can make a perfect copy to fit the transmission tunnel. Should have the carpets and vinil fitted in the next few weeks, Should also have some more progress pictures up once I figure out that pixel limit. Cheers, Jack

  19. Surely there has to be someone in Oz wrecking their 240 or somebody selling the diamond vinyl? Can't believe that there is none in Australia. Jack.
  20. I am missing the trim for the transmission tunnel in my 240, wondering where I can find a black trim anywhere, nobody seems to wreck 35 year old cars anymore. Even if I could locate some of the material, it is the same black material that also covers the wheel arches in the 240. Any ideas would be helpful. Thanks, Jack.
  21. Do Zspares sell a cheap carpet kit?
  22. I was reading the article on the orange zed in that car magazine the other day, and I noticed that he talked about getting a carpet kit from zparts in nsw for his 240. I wondered if they had moulded carpets, or if anyone had any experience with these? Cheers, Jack.
  23. I know how you feel zeddofile. Most of my black trim pieces have had pieces cut out for sound system, and my replacements are brown. Unfortunately that one brown piece is broken. Will reply if I find the right place. Jack.
  24. Sounds good. If you've got the airbox, that would be handy, but if not, no worries. Thaks MrDatto. Keep in touch via email. Jack.
  25. Yeah, just got another camera, so pictures of the car will be up soon. I'll get that manual and post some pics if I need any help. Is it possible to get the original material that covers the wheel arches to use as roof lining? Going to see the upholsterer in the next few days to see about roof lining and recovering the seats I got from Sulio. Also, the carpet that covers the back portion of the car, is this to be glued down or just laid over the underfelt? Also, where's would be the best place to get the interior trim panel at the most rear of the car, on the right side, behind the wheel arch. Thanks, Jack.
