  1. Crap, can't make it this time Have a great night.
  2. I haven't found much in the way of interior kits made locally. There's carpet kits on Ebay from a couple of different companies, I think one is TruFit. As far as vinyl or seat restoration goes, I searched a few months ago for replacement vinyl with the diamond pattern but couldn't find anything. I believe some people simply take their seats to an automotive upholsterer for re-foaming. Has anyone else found something?
  3. Great shots Van! Had a great time despite the weather. Here's some shots I got. Yep, gotta do this again soon!
  4. I'll bring my digital camera (cheapo) and tripod as well, get some group shots. Weatherman predicts some rain though and a blistering 13 degrees. I've got some Rain-X I might bring along if anyone needs it.
  5. Didn't end up making it myself. Bruce, what kind of swaybar did you fit?
  6. Good point Lurch. I didn't know you're a "racing bus driver"
  7. Referring to an L-series, I don't know an easy way. I guess you could get shims for the cam towers, which would raise the cam sprocket and take up some slack. I'm not sure what the consequences of this would be though on your rocker arms, etc. Everything else (chain tensioner and guides) aren't really accessible unless you go the whole nine yards and rip the front off
  8. Anyone going this weekend? I'm not competing myself but was thinking of having a quick look.
  9. Here's some pics of the fans for reference.
  10. They're usually white and made from ceramic material, rectangular in shape about as long as your finger. Disconnect it and check for continuity, or unscrew it and look underneath for the resistance coil inside to see if it's broken.
  11. Now I have to think and my brain hurts - you want the needle (that the float tab pushes against) to be open longer so more fuel flows in to the bowl, therefore you need to bend the tab away from the needle.
  12. Have you got a synchroniser Sulio? For triples you'll need it!
  13. Maybe there's a problem with the floats in the fuel bowls? Have you checked the float heights? The bowls sit to the side of each carburettor.

    Tapet Adjustment.

I've got a manual at home, do you have an L24, L26 or an L28 motor?

    Tapet Adjustment.

You'll need two spanners, I can't remember the exact sizes. One is to loosen the lock nut, while the other adjusts the height (and hence the tapet clearance). If you're adjusting while hot, work quickly, otherwise wait overnight and adjust to cold clearances. Loosen the lock nut, stick your gauge in and adjust until you're happy I find the clearance shifts slightly when tightening the lock nut, so keep this in mind. Also, if you're rocker cover gasket is a bit second-hand, maybe replace it at the same time. Hope this helps.
  16. There's an adjusting rod between the handbrake lever and the U-shaped equalizer under the car. I tried it on mine but it's maxed out already, but still worth checking.
  17. I replaced my stock 240Z fan motor on the weekend with a unit from a 1989 Honda Prelude. Paid $20 from the wreckers for it. It's pretty straightforward, just need to change the wiring to the Z's spade type connections. The only other things were getting some washers as the rubber insulated ones don't fit the Honda, and clearance for the left side plastic demister duct, the motor pushes into it crushing it slightly, but the black plastic can be removed from the motor which helps a bit. A good improvement over my crappy old fan . I have photos of both fans together but I don't know how to attach them!
  18. Bllllaaaahhhhhh, sorry, just brought up my breakfast.
  19. Interesting, I wouldn't do it personally as i'd rather frame rails bottoming out on a driveway than my floorpan. Wouldn't take many hits to punch a hole in the floor.
  20. I had a vibration during deceleration. I thought it may have been the bolts or driveshafts, turns out it was the U-joint on the tailshaft.
  21. For those who didn't come you missed out on seeing Dale's bargain of the century. There was also some BRE 510 (sorry, 1600) footage running through the night. A big thanks to everyone for organising another night, and thanks to Dale for making the trip down from Ballarat with his car.
  22. "Do NOT contact me offering services or anything of a commercial nature." Someone call him offering a deal on window blind cleaning.
  23. I was fixing the wiring connectors to my door switch on the weekend. After putting the kick panel back on and opening/closing the door to test, now the switch doesn't work properly (did before) eerrrghhhh :x Also, I find it's a bad idea to pull things apart when said things are likely to have brittle things (read - gaskets) that you don't have a spare for. Sooley, 7 times! That sucks.
  24. What's wrong with your factory heater and fan?
  25. I thought the netting was so you could have a window down for ventilation and not have your arm severed when it flies out during a roll-over?
