the shows getting better, but still very awkward at times....but i'm sure i couldn't do it better. the review was good, good to see the 240z in the studio... i thought the wet corner powersliding was a bit pointless...not exactly the best way to show the differences between the 350 and 370 (maybe that's just me, but i don't think the way traction control feels would be a major issue... you put it on when commuting or driving normally, and if you want to have fun you take it off - done), the time would have been better spent on a comparison lap, or a head to head between two of the presenters or something.

there was an LD28....a diesel L series, but there are very few (If any) in Australia, you would have to get one from new zealand. the majority of diesel engines in the patrols of that era were sd33 i believe, a 3.3 litre diesel straight six, that is different from the L series. you could make it fit...but with a lot of work, to achieve very little... edit: the rd28 is based on the RB series...and therefore would require the same (actually more) work to fit than the petrol RB engines - you can also get an rd28et - which would be cool, but i don't think it would be an easy or economic option to get more power

did you upgrade to vented rotors, or stay solid? if you did the solid rotor conversion, standard 260z 14" wheels fit fine.

Types Of S30 Front Air Dams And Where To Get Them In Aus

it looks great! i can't wait to see it on the car. i never noticed that the BRE cars had such a big lip. -
i've got a set that just came off to to do the hilux front/r31 rear disc conversion... little dirty but working perfectly, almost new pads as well. I'm in Ormond, Victoria, near Caulfield, but am often in Hawthorn area. make me an offer - it will go towards getting a patrol 1" master as now my brakes barely work with the old 7/8" master.

i've always loved that bre spook spoiler... the larger one will look tough....now you just need a set of those libre four spoke wheels. if you are willing to make another of the smaller bre ones (or part with your old one when he new project is done) i would love to get one from you. -
yeah dished pistons.... the flat tops in my f54/p90A have no dish at all

hahaha...this is awesome... i love your threads galderdi.. where do you get the latex and gel coats from?

not for me, but it's a great idea. but if you are going to go through with the hassle and expense...surely you would be better off buying the highest quality multi-piece fg g-nose you can. making a high quality multi piece replica from a one piece knock off seems like a difficult task. maybe speak to Ben at otomoto and see if he can get you one, he may even be able to source a carbon one, but i guess the interest for you is getting your friend to make one up..

hi..... im new.......... now with Z :P

with regard to the l24 vs l28, it's best way is to lock at block stamping - n42 and f54 is an l28. You can look at head stamping, but the head may not be the original (they're interchangable between l24, l26, l28). -
yeah, i think the danger is that dirt getting into the bore would over time damage that bore lining and that inner seal, letting the fluid escape...not that this would be likely to happen that soon, but it still means removing the piston much more often than with dust seals

i have the points dizzy off my 260 (from when i went electric a few years ago) it was working fine when i took it off, but i have a feeling it's developed a bit of surface rust in the mean time. I'll check it on the weekend, and if it's in working order and i can clean it, then it's yours for the price of postage.

hey ben, i really like the look of the steering wheel you supply. do you also have the boss kits to suit? i'm presuming you would need a short one to allow for the dish? also do you still do second hand oldschool rims? i'm after some 15 x 8 (or around that, may even consider 14's)...i love the look of the rotas, but am after something a little different, alternatively i was thinking sportmax 002. to be honest i'm worried every zed in australia will soon be rolling on rota rb's! not that that's a bad thing mind you...

rear 2 pot caliper conversion
luke_mcmahon85 replied to Will's topic in Brakes / Drivetrain Components
this is a write up for upgrading a 240sx (180sx or 200sx) to 300zx brakes...it would seem to be ridiculously hard to get this working on z. if you want to upgrade the rear brake, i'm aaaaaalmost finished the r31 upgrade, and if you modify the handbrake brackets (basically weld the z ones to the r31 bracket) and of course modify the r31 caliper mounts, it is reasonably straight forward they are only single piston, but this would seem to be more than adequate for street and moderate track work. alternatively there is the 280zx upgrade that lurch did, with the sweet looking custom aluminum mounts.. -

R31 caliper and disc mock-up - brackets still a work in progress -
that's handy to know, i just put hilux calipers on the front, and am currently working on the brackets for the r31 rears, probably worth picking one up. how much was it?

hey guys, i'm in the middle of putting r31 rear calipers on my 260z, and am using the r31 caliper brackets, that need to be modified (holes welded and redrilled, a section cut out so they can slide on). but, as i absolutely butchered my backing plates getting them off, i can't really use it as an accurate template. also, making the hole in the centre bigger looks a little bit dodgy just being widened with an angle grinder. to save all this mucking around, i was wondering if purchasing the pre-modified caliper brackets for a 1600 ( http://www.maddat.com.au/brake-parts.php ) would be an easier option. I just need to know if the holes would be the same as for the z? I've emailed them, but haven't recieved a reply yet. also, i know they're pretty expensive for something that would take 20 minutes to do myself, but i'd need to buy bigger drill bits etc, and i'm still not sure i'd be confident in getting it right, also apparently nissco make them up much cheaper

good value.. do HSD have any struts to suit?

don't quote me on this, but i don't think we got this type of manifold in australia... it appears to be the non-webbed, non-egr manifold from a 280z i have a similar one (large plenum, not the one that tapers) at home, as well as one that tapers - the tapering one definately has the sort of teardrop shaped intake with dual butterflys - the larger plenum one has a more open hole, but not quite round from memory, i have an XF throttle body that goes with it, so i'm not sure what was originally on it. Also, the one i have has webbing, although i've ground most of it away

write a letter to him, asking for the parts within a reasonable time (14 days?) and if not, then the money back, and tell him that if this isn't done in 14 days you will be contacting consumer affairs victoria or taking the matter to VCAT (Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal - this may be tricky as you're in NSW, but sometimes you van have a proxy i think...) give consumer affairs victoria a call (they may tell you to ring fair trading NSW) and they'll give you this advice i have had only good experiences with zworx in the past, but it was a long time ago, i guess before the change in ownership but do send a letter...it always works better than a phone call or emails for getting things done...
