  1. derr....forgot to put the address.... http://www.rodshop.com.au/mounts.htm
  2. try the castelmaine rod shop, they have tons of engine mounting kits as well as bellhousings to connect to different transmissions.... ...check out this page, it lists a chev to 260z kit....EM82... ...they also have a RB30 kit
  3. hey dave, i saw that car on ebay a little while ago... had an interesting engine if i'm not mistaken, could you give us some details?
  4. lots of people have tried putting RB heads on L6's, but none have ever been successful i don't think, not sure if bolts line up, but water passages and the like are just too difficult to get right search over on HybridZ, but i'm pretty sure it can't be done

    From the album: 260Z 2+2

  6. when i put the zx dizzy in, i tried to use the 260 coil, and had the exact same symptoms...had spark, and it looked good, but still wouldn't start...swapped the zx coil in and it fired straight up if i were you, i'd put that zx coil and dizzy that you have in (only takes 10 minutes) and see if that works
  7. they really should have used a 2+2....could have had a proper family wagon...
  8. i just did the 280zx coil and distributor swap on my car, so i have a spare 260z coil and distributor laying around that work perfectly if you want to test it out to make sure that's not your problem
  9. it should have plastic tubing going to under the cowl panel that leads to the sprayers, if it's not hooked up, your sprayers not working...get some aquarium tubing and hook it up
  10. winscreen sprayer thingy?
  11. i love those hurricane wheels! if natez doesn't want them for any reason i'll definately grab them!
  12. i have a set of 2 solex's that came off an old toyota motor...they were just selling for a good price and i couldn't refuse... how hard would it be to get a third one to match? also, where do you buy manifold's from? there's a linkage set on ebay at the moment if anyone's interested.. http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=4650608148&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&rd=1
  13. we got the modelling foam from some place in dandenong, they didn't charge us anything for it either, so that was pretty cool, no idea about the name of the place, but i'll try and find out if you like... ...you can also use florists foam, if you only need a little bit, any florists should be able to help you
  14. my previous owner mounted them on the sides of the centre console... not only does it ruin the console, but the sound isn't that good either. i only have a little bit of fibreglass experience, and most of that has been construvting the shape out of modelling foam, and then laying the fibreglass over the top, after using filler and some sanding, it can look very smooth and nice, it's not hard, just very messy...
  15. the individual ones look awesome, but if you're after performance, the stock airbox is supposed to be fantastic. you can get a K&N filter to replace the stock one
  16. he put australia in because he used the exact same post on zcar.com and probably a bunch of others. could you find out from ron how much this system would cost for a z?
  17. 260 carbs were flat topped, while 240's came with round top carbs. the 260's have square mouths, while the 240's had round
  18. i'd be up for it...my engines a very basic L28 with low compression due to p90 head, but i'd do it just for kicks
  19. Just thought i'd throw my 2 cents in here.... the MN47, as far as i can tell, and as the people on zcar.com tended to agree with me a while back, is the same head used on the 80's skyline here (don't ask me what years, some came with e88, some with n47) but the n47 are the MN47 as far as i can tell, and have heart shaped combustion chambers, but smaller than the P90. they are an L24E head and thus have the smaller valves.... however this is all heresay, i haven't actually checked, next time i have some time i'll head down to a wrecker and pull one to verify the shape of the cumbustion chambers.....ah, who am i kidding, i'll never get round to that...but i challenge one of you guys to...then we can all rejoice in the plentiful supply of MN47 heads...
  20. yeah, i am in melbourne...the P90 came with my car when i bought it, i've always wondered where it came from myself....it's actually the P90A head, that depending on where you look for your information, came with hydraulic lifters....mine however is the solid lifter type the P90A only came on 1983 turbo ZX's as far as i know, so i have no idea where the previous owner got mine from. i bought the car in tasmania
  21. my L28 (F54 block with P90 head) has the 'nissan ohc' cover on it, although i suppose this doesn't necessarily mean this is the one it came with. I also have a spare bold lettered 'NISSAN' cover that i plan on putting on soon...i got this one off a 280zx, although i have also seen the 'nissan ohc' ones on zx's. Also i've seen the bold 'NISSAN' ones on late 280C's. incidentally, i got a cool oil cap at the wreckers a while ago, with japanese writing and an elephant on it. i read something about them on zcar.com a little a while ago...looks really neat.
  22. that looks amazing...you'll have to update with a review and also the procing details....driving in summer is killing me...
  23. There's Zworx in mentone, and the Zshop in Glen Iris (http://www.zshop.net.au/) I don't have that much experience with either of them, but z worx fixed a door lock problem i had very cheaply, and also got me a couple of seatbelts. i buy some parts from the zshop occaisionally, not sure about how much he charges for work though...he tends to have mainly race cars in whenever i'm there i'm sure someone else will give you more details
  24. yeah, another way to tell if it's a 2+2 is by the back seats, lol if you're after a serious project you're probably best tracking down a 2 seater....the 2+2's are cheaper and come up for sale alot more often personally i went to tasmania to buy my 260 (2+2)...the back seats do come in handy...and i can stand driving the SECOND sexiest car on the road...hehehe just keep looking and one will come up...although 2k is a little low, as these cars are getting rare...also any for that price probably have major rust issues which will cost you in the future the problem you face is finding one with bad mechanicals (as you;re going to swap anyway) but good body. unfortunately it's the body that goes first, while the engine lasts forever.... anyway...good luck with the search...have you driven a z yet? do that first and it will be all the motivation you need....
  25. yeah, talk to tonyd over at zcar.com about this stuff, he's the guy that holds the land speed record...but it's in a 280zx, not z. and they have much better aerodynamics....the gaping hole at the front of the z and flat firewall means that (according to tonyd) the z has a drag coefficients only slightly better than a 6 by 8 foot sheet of plywood, i think it's worse than a vx combi. a g nose helps this, as does bonnet venting, preferably out the fenders
