Hey guys, Well all got back this morning safe & sound. A full report will be uploaded soon.
  5. Theres a guy on the AE86 forum that bring them in

    SR20 vs RB25

Firstly, FILL IN YOUR LOCATION! Secondly, you do realize your looking at the best part of 5-6k for the conversion for either engines? And the SR20det will have SFA torque compared to a larger capacity 6cyl engine.
  7. First of all: YOU MUST FILL IN YOUR LOCATION!!! Secondly, how much is your budget for the engine rebuild, and how fast do you want to go?

    Radiator flush

If I could make a recommendation; instead of using the normal green 'Ethylene Glycol', Poor in a bottle of "Redline 'Water Wetter' ". This stuff is FAR superior to the old Ethylene Glycol, as it doesn't raise the boiling point of the water, it INCREASES the cooling capacity of the water when its added = cooler running engine. Retails from 'Bursons' for around $25. HIGHLY recommended!
  9. The very early R180's didn't have the 'K' stamped on them. The 3.54 came out of various car's - possibly out of the auto 240K's?
  10. Scando, I'm afraid I've misinformed you Apparently we've had to register with the Symmons Plains mob for the day & as it was organized pre-Xmas they are not allowing more people to run on the track, or some such. Sorry about that :-\ Your most welcome to come up & watch though
  11. I think that is what he did, Sulio.
  12. Scando, we're not at Baskerville this year - we're at Symmons Plains! Quite welcome to come up for a drive though We'll be there on the 12th of Feb from 11-3pm. Entry is $99. (FWIW we'll be in Hobart on the 8th & 9th.) Ash, you wouldn't have been able to keep up with Gordo's GTR anyway! Was awesome to see Sinja in the RB26 powered beast too.
  13. Yeah, that's David 350Z monster...! Evan, this was advertised via email/word of mouth.
  14. It would be easier to advise you if you filled in your Location...
  15. If the Zed is a 2+2 it will have the auto ratio of 3.54 - this will show about 2500RPM in 5th at 100kph. If it's a 2 seater 260Z it will have an auto ratio of 3.7(?) so will show slightly higher in 5th at 100kph.
  16. Use an Electronic Dizzy from MR30 Skyline = cheap. Might have to have the Tacho. modded though... Carby turbo setups are horrid... Say goodbye to low speed drivability & any reasonable economy...
  17. Dude, what ARE you doing bringing up threads from 3 years ago?!?!
  18. Dave, For 3k your not going to get much... The STD N42 head flows 'ok', so I would be just looking at match porting the head to the manifold. Go the Webers if you don't mind higher fuel consumption & slightly rougher running down low in the rev range. Try & get a set of extractors (if you don't already have a set). A MILD camshaft & new lash-pads & heavier duty valve springs would also be an excellent decision. As the the N42 head has large chambers, I'd look at a set of standard style flat top pistons to raise the CR a bit. And at the end of all this, budget $600 for a PROPER session on a rolling road dyno, to set the tune. I recommend: http://www.powerplay.net.au/ Pauly, unless the Rev. has 5k+ to spend on the conversion & the budget to maintain a L28et engine, this is NOT an option.
  19. One has been located!
  20. Never head of it. Not a US term is it? The stuff I've always used is called 'Sikaflex' (in a black tube). It's paintable & also comes in other colours, but the white is easier to use.
  21. More...!!!!!!!
