Just had a kick in the guts I had panel beater/spray painter (that was highly reccomended to me) come & look at the Zed. His quote was 2k over my MAXIMUM bodywork budget He paints exotics, so it was to be expected I guess... Looks like I've got to reassess things...

Was a good day today - I think everyone got plenty of runs... JB had a bolt come a bit loose on the S14's engine crossmember(!), but some quick spanner work sorted that. Gordo had electrical gremlins which turned out to be a worn ignition barrel. Dimitri was soon on the case & successfully bypassed it which allowed Gordo to run faultlessly for the rest of the day. And I helped Craigo bleed his brakes (twice!) after his pedal became a tad spongy... And John ran faultlessly - just needs to get the clutch thrust bearing replaced! All in all, an enjoyable day

In this case mate, your head should rule over heart. Buy a cheap bomb to drive around in while you fix the Zed. Rust repairs are never cheap & they always take longer than expected. Trust me - I've been through all this before...

Meh, I've fixed worse... It's not to far gone at all Leon. I'd be interested to see what the roof is like under the bog though. If you need a hand to fix it, either Reverendzed or myself could help you out

You can buy replacement chromed plastic beading to do the same job - it's looks quite similar to the old chrome strips. Most good windscreen shops have it in stock

Topic's merged... Perhaps a wander down to your local optometrist for a new pair of spectacles is in order? There are TWO - yes TWO! - buttons that you need to understand: 1. is 'Reply' down the bottom of the page that is used to ad extra information to an existing post. This button - believe it or not - is the one you 'should' have used! Amazing I know... 2. is the 'Post new thread' button - this is the one you failed to use correctly & ended up cluttering up the forum & making me spend unnecessary time merging your posts into this one BTW, that scoop looks like arse IMHO. Welcome to the forum.
