  1. Just an update on this thread. Details below of an Australian distributor for Watanabe wheels as quoted from classicz.com
  2. Yer this sounds interesting. I suppose we need to send him some pics with details. I'm in. Maybe we should get an idea of numbers and then all interested can provide a pic with a breif speil on the car and then you could send the pics and info in one e-mail and see if he is interested and if so what he would like to do!? IE .maybe a group thing and perhaps get some exposure for the site! Sulio
  3. hmmm...Info I've read in the past re the "wider" calipers for sale above as quoted from a thread on HybridZ. Hmmm...I wonder which are being sold on e-bay, S12W which according to the above are the heaviest and offer least wheel clearance or a version of the S12+8 calipers? Sulio
  4. I think everybody here likes that one Scott. Funny thing about the steering, I had 205's on the front before and I've gone to 225 and expected heavy steering but was suprised that there has'nt been much difference! I think the trick is to keep the front tyres reasonably pressurised. Sulio
  5. Evan, it's all got a bit confusing. What are you trying to do with the paint you have bought? Isn't your car green? Are you painting the whole car black? Is the paint your using the same type as originally discussed at the begining of this thread? Sulio
  6. I had this pic sent to me today!
  7. It's moulded to fit, you just need get it sitting nicely on the car and mark up the bolt holes and drill them through. Very easy, it took me 30 min to instal.
  8. $1700 for a vynil sunroof! thats a rip off hey! Yer new front spoiler is fitted but my Canon digi cam is in for repair again! I'm extremly happy with the spoiler. It sits really nicely and flex's a bit when pushed in. I sprayed it satin black and I think I'll keep it that colour looks pretty cool. Try and get some pics soon.
  9. I was digging around in peoples galleries on HybridZ.
  10. I came across this 240 wagon pic recently. Hmmm how about a 240 panel van!
  11. Recent pics I've come across;
  12. http://www.streetbeatcustoms.com/ragtopsunroofs.html More pics of rag tops. If you do end up deciding re-install the sunroof the old style rag tops look good on the Z. Sort of got that period correct feel to it!
  13. House is going well, like the Z always something to do. Ah your RB25, you going to put carbs on it? Go for that 432 twin cam sound and look? Sulio
  14. hi Ash, this is an old one that dissapeared off the radar as Costa has! As far as dyno days go I would like to organise something once I get a chance to finish the mild L28 I would like to get into one of these days but with the new house thats dropped off on the list of priorities for a little while. Where's your car at mate?
  15. Yer thats right they bolted on to the hub and then there are a second set of studs to fix the wheel to. You can order these bolt on adapters that convert to any stud pattern to what ever PCD you want. A lot of the guys on HybridZ use them on L28ET's and V8s with no probs but it's really a piece of mind issue and I like the look of a bit of dish so if not in a rush I would recommend three piece custom wheels. Just save a few more dollars. Sulio
  16. I had some bolt on adapters made by a US Co that cost about AUD$330.00 delivered. They were approx 1.75inch thick and made so that you could fit all the honda FWD wheels to the Z. I was concerned about all the points mentioned above but I never had any issues. I think alot of 911 that get flared out use them. However I don't think they are legal in Victoria. If your going for the flared look best to get custom wheels seeing the dish looks so good. Some pics below of the wheels mounted with adapters.
  17. I know a lot of us here have got Z projects on the go and have a certain look in mind for thier cars so I thought it would be a good idea to post some pics of the "look" your going for! Lets call it an inspirational thread for those that need it! This has been something that has kept changing over the years as far as my Z goes. My early plans for my car were very different from where I'm at now and I'm sure there will be alot more to stew over when it comes to the L28 I'm hoping to get into at some point soon. So show us what you want your Z to look like when "finished"!!! Sulio
  18. Is the 280zx master cylinder a straight bolt in? I've heard you have to find the earlier model, from memory it has 2 round oil chambers as apposed to the square ones?
  19. Just to touch on the 4x4 Hilux calipers again. I just found out the wieght difference between the stock front calipers and the 4x4 Hilux calipers is 2 pounds or 900 grams! 900 grams does'nt justify not having them considering how low cost and straight forward the conversion is!? Sulio
  20. I still think the sliding canvas roof makes the best type of sunroof for the Z and it might be your only option now. The link below is for a VW in the same style. Sorry I could'nt find a pic with a Z. I have seen a green car with a black canvas roof in this style. Looked good. Not sure who makes them but shop around. http://www2.cip1.com/PhotoGallery.asp?ProductCode=T22%2D1112%2D30&PhotoNumber=2#largerphoto
  21. Installed the urathane front spoiler today. Amazing how forgiving it is! You can twist it or push it right in and it still jumps back into shape. I definatley think it's worth spending a few bux more and having this sort of peice of mind! It came as in the pic above. Not sure wether to paint it matt black or gloss like the flares and fin? I know 2 pak has a bit of flex but how much!? Hmmm...will post pics soon! Sulio
  22. I had to make up some half machined "washers" to hold mine in place otherwise i'd blow the exhaust manifold gasket. I think Nate had the same problem on his old 2 seater 260!? Sulio
  23. Trolley, that threads a really interesting read. I've seen this discussion on classicz before but thought nothing of it seeing I assumed the result would look like rubbish but those cars on that thread look quite ok. It would be really interesting to see the results up close in real life! Keep us posted if you take this route. I reckon as he said your prep work would be important and removing all the parts prior to spraying the car would make it look a lot better. IE remove all glass and badges. Sulio
  24. I voted $14-17K. I take it you mean an original car that has a good paint job, with interior in tip top nick ie no tears or cracks in the dash and a fresh motor with a nice clean engine bay!!! Anyway thats what I would expect to get for that price range.
  25. Hi Nate. I think they might. Warren from AllZparts called me after reading my wanted add on Ozdat. I paid $375.00 inc shippng. He told me he was going to send me an e-mail with quite a few other bits and pieces like a six piece fibre glass g-nose he has. Anyway don't buy anything yet lets see if he can do a special deal for members here. I'll post any details I get from him as well as any special offers I might be able to arrange for us! Cheers Sulio
