I got mine retrimmed using the old back boards for $75.00ea. Very happy with the end result. I suppose it depends on how much of a purist you are!? I've just realised I don't have much in the way of interior pics in my gallery but I dug one out that is'nt the best however best I could find on my lap top whilst in bed.

Ah yes I can see where you have braced it. I certainly don't want it to bend in the middle so the plan is to brace both upper and lower section. The only reason I have'nt done it yet is I'm till debating whether to paint it red as is the car or go to gloss black!? I've been leaning to the red for some time now! I've tried both colours to date. ??

The code might noty be a as good as an idea because although you might get the right code the existing paint might have faded slightly so I would say your better off getting it matched up!

Don't mean to hijack thread but just a quick question re N42 head vs N47. I've read the later N47 has hardened seats and well suited to unleaded unlike N42. Might be a silly question but what sort of damage and how probable is it re running unleaded without addative on an N42 head with the standard valve seats?

Body work related to cutting out rust is one of the most expensive parts of these restorations. I too am hoping to learn how to use a MIG at some point soon! All the best with your projects! Post some pics when you get a chance. Sulio

oh yer did'nt notice the black wheels, oh yer looks better. Whats with that NISMO sticker? Was that on the car before? Not a fan of those nismo stickers, they look like a kid in kinda cut them out. Get some DATSUN badges, look heaps better.

William that looks alot better. Having the light trims black instead of silver gives it a nice look also. I noticed the bars are a little banged up. I was just thinking if your not concerned about keeping them looking chrome, (rechromed ones about $300 per bar), you could get the fibre glass bars in black just to neaten things up bit. I think they would be a lot cheaper than $300, I'm stewing over the same thing atm!?

Had the same problem RUSSJZ-ZED had with flex, will do the same as you have, it's been a while but thanx for the pics mate! I can get one for about US$400.00 complete however not sure how much shipping would cost. I thought of doing the same but when you take into account most likely need to reco turbo in which case most likely to upgrade any how, new injectors and computer set you back alot. So once you include price of motor and shipping it quickly gets to the point where it's not such a cheap conversion anymore. There was thread on this let me find it...will be back soon! Yer all went well. Good have Craig give us such a good run down on the car, (I can't believe you run it on a track considering how much works gone into it, very nice car!). Lurch did all the organising of the venue which was fantastic, thanks again mate! ZD44TT, nah was'nt raining. This met was about a relaxed chat rather than a cruise. We will soon commit to 3 to 4 days per yer with fixed dates for this meeting however there is much to be discussed and all details will be posted on a new thread soon.
