  1. I've never found a 240z wheel with an uncracked horn ring. Just be patient. Steve is a 1 man shop as far as I'm aware. You can also buy a NOS horn pad on eBay.
  2. If I recall correctly later ones are N36. I can't recall if earlier cars had a different casting code though (than E46). I seem to recall discussions years ago that there was 10hp difference between 240z and 260z intakes. No idea what data this was based off of. Edit checked manifold from my 70 Z and it's an E46 manifold.
  3. Contact Steve, he only makes items to order as demand needs. I'm sure if you contact him he will help out.
  4. Common problem they have all cracked by now. You can get another ring here. https://www.240zrubberparts.com/apps/webstore/products/show/4432194
  5. Half the reason I have the cars in the for sale threads and list the ones that catch my eye in particular is to keep track of market values. I would look into Enthusiast. I always liked Shannons but have found them wanting when it comes to the FD RX7 and my Nissan Stagea. Just absurd figures for both in Inner West Sydney. Now that I have moved to Melbourne I haven't got another quote, but think it's the same problem with outrageous costs. Enthusiast allows you to retain the car / salvage it, like Shannon's. But you'll need to read the fine print if you want to make sure they are inline with what you're looking for. They also are flexible in values. I've been bumping my RX7 up in value each year and my 240z's where appropriate. They haven't even asked to see photos of them. I just explain what they are worth and why. But surely if need be you could supply the examples listed on BAT or Yahoo! Auctions as evidence that the global market will pay a premium for very well restored cars?
  6. Photos of it prior to GTO conversion. https://goo.gl/photos/PK47cMf7BcXHyMKN9
  7. My guess is not very well. Apparently there is a difference between early manifolds and later ones. Why do you want to make the switch?
  8. I'm glad he mentioned the flooding. I saw photos on Facebook after the heavy downpours in Sydney earlier this year. I have photos of this car before the conversion also. It was red and already modified.
  9. @specialp3 your car is stunning and worth as much as the white 1 I posted which I think you're talking about. I have 4x 240z's, 1 RX7 a Nissan Stagea 260rs and the Mrs Mazda 3 with Enthusiast Insurance for around $200 P/month. My cars are likely slightly under insured. It's hard to argue values on half finished projects, but the complete cars I've insured for more. But your car should have no issues showing its value if you use recent BAT examples in North America and the cars I'm showing in Japan and their sale prices. The Australian market imho is small and has somewhat stalled in the last few years, but having said that I don't recall ever seeing a car restored to the level your car is go for sale here. So it's upper value is unknown. I know that Kevin is asking $150k for his KGC10 on CarSales. Which seems to be what the global market is now paying for these cars. So I don't see why an equally as good S30z shouldn't get those prices. Fwiw Shannon's insurance wouldn't work with me on the FD RX7 or Nissan Stagea pricing was through the roof.
  10. It's an excellent price for an early-ish S30z tail lamp car. At those prices it's worth restoring these cars properly. And it is a lot of work, so it's not like easy money.

  16. By the way I started moving site assets (common files etc..) to Amazon S3 storage, which is based in Sydney (data centre) this means each request for a file no longer needs to go all the way across the globe to the US hosting firm and back. My observation since enabling this is that the site has picked up a lot of responsiveness and speed. I have no yet moved all attachments or gallery images across to Amazon yet. That will take some time, but once it's done things should be a lot more scalable in terms of space and costings and backup should be easier too. Please let me know if you have observed any site performance improvements or decreases lately. Feedback helps me know if I'm moving things in the right direction (I think I am, but your feedback helps me confirm). Thanks.
  17. I believe I may have some sneaky footage from the dyno room operators who were there. They said you were not happy that you only made 10 mode rear wheel HP after all that work.
  18. Just an fyi, but I've gone through all the recent donations and updated the member status to reflect donating member status. Please let me know if I've missed anyone, since not everyone's paypal details and email matches their member profile. Thanks everyone!
  19. Hey guys, So current plan is that I'm moving a lot of the static storage to Amazon AWS (S3). I got stuck previously because the guide was outdated and the UI had changed and I wasn't familar with Amazon's terminology. Now it looks like I've configured it. Once everything is copied across and away from the current hosting in that regard, I'm going to look at moving the core forum over to Invision Power hosting itself. This is because they will then handle the software updates. I used to want more control to do some custom things with the older software but these days I keep it pretty vanilla due to time constraints. It's a little tricky to determine pricing because I'm not sure how many "Active Users" we actually have over a given 24 hour period. According to the way they calculate things. But you can get a look at how they have structured pricing here: https://invisioncommunity.com/buy In terms of space I think we have about 20gig now (database from memory is about 2gb) and media storage is up around 20 gigs+. So the core hosting service will be via InvisionPower I think we will fall into the 100 visitors plan. The hosting of static images and media will be done via Amazon AWS - which I think costs are very modest.(even at 20+ gigs). So I am hoping this will trim down costs a bit.

  23. Hey everyone thanks for all your donations. I haven't updated everyone's status to donating member yet. I'll do it in bulk when I get a new laptop (handed in the work 1) and new Macbooks have a 2 week wait on delivery. Yikes! Hard to do from my phone because admin section is best suited to desktop PC. Anyway, thanks again. I have had a couple of job interviews so may have work again soon.
  24. Super clean S30z https://buyee.jp/item/yahoo/auction/s728710183?lang=en
  25. The Zcar Garage StopTech kit? I've been thinking about it. But would probably look for Mk63s first. Otherwise sounds like a good kit.
