  1. 73 Automatic 240z. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/112477309375?ul_noapp=true
  2. RH rear 1/4 is not original and LH side is original. So it must have been replaced at some stage. My 72 had the same thing done. I assume for rust repair reasons or a minor love tap?
  3. Wonder what that welded on plate is in the engine bay at the bottom of the strut tower?
  4. Nice, looks like a good project car. Great colour also. Closest car I have to that is #626. https://goo.gl/photos/BKNmC8HvcKmoy79x5 and #624 was 901 Silver.
  5. I got my first ride in a Tesla the other week on the way to the airport (45 mins) in San Francisco. It was my Uber ride, and I have to say I'm impressed with the Tesla, what a car! The owner was doing Uber to help pay off the car and said he charges the car at home using solar power so he doesn't spend a cent on fuel of any kind. He told me it's very little maintenance. He told me that he was a big car guy (so of course we got along just fine), said he had a Corvette ZR1 supercharged 700HP before that. Said it drank like a sailor and that he got the Tesla because it was faster and more cost effective to run. He and his wife are so impressed they bought a second Tesla for her! Pretty sure it was a Model S P85. So not even the P90D or the P100D. He also told me he had a Toyota Supra he just recently sold and didn't like the way it drove. I wonder if he was spoilt by the Tesla though? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=do23oQaRMeo
  6. https://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/buderim/wheels-tyres-rims/csa-magnesium-wheels-14x6-5-4x114-3/1151782306 $225.00 CSA magnesium wheels 14x6.5, 4x114.3 Seems cheap for lightweight wheels!
  7. Well someone wanted a spare topy wheel and original tyre. https://page.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/l396870581 AU$423.85 - just for 1...guessing value was mostly in the tyre.
  8. There was a bunch of Nissan 2400 OHC valve covers on eBay US in the last 6 months. Apparently all bought by some chap in NZ for silly money. Is restoring lots of early cars apparently? Tell him to share some, I don't want to pay $800 USD for a valve cover! Thankfully after that spate of crazy buying prices settled down again to around $350-$400 USD.
  9. I am running an L28 in my 72 240z. Since the S30Z came with an L28 in North America (HLS30's) then it should not be an issue. Also the capacity increase is within the 20% increase (in displacement not power). (16%). Technically it falls under https://www.vicroads.vic.gov.au/registration/vehicle-modifications-and-defects/vehicle-modifications/notify-vicroads-of-changes-and-modifications Change of engine - scenario 1 The replacement engine is identical to the original engine. The replacement engine is an option allowed by the manufacturer for the same model vehicle. Documents required: if the engine is optional to the original, a signed declaration from the registered operator, motor mechanic, or dealer in that make of vehicle or an Automotive Engineer certifying the engine is optional for the vehicle model, and that all modifications made by the manufacturer for the same vehicle model with that optional engine have been completed an original receipt for the purchase of the engine as proof of ownership of the engine a completed Change of vehicle details form [PDF 135 Kb]. You will need to attend a VicRoads Customer Service Centre to have the vehicle's engine inspected to confirm the new engine details. No appointment is required. Note: The optional engine must be offered in Australia by the vehicle manufacturer as an option for that vehicle (or certified variants). And you can read more about increase in power (20% increase). https://www.google.com.au/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=1&ved=0ahUKEwiwn_myz_3UAhVLUbwKHcSeDjMQFggkMAA&url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.vicroads.vic.gov.au%2F~%2Fmedia%2Ffiles%2Fdocuments%2Fsafety-and-road-rules%2Fvsinumber8guidetomodificationsformotorvehicles.pdf%3Fla%3Den&usg=AFQjCNFPUmsJyAtDk1qjoKMs64SgMMjJgg I think so long as you notify Vicroads it's got an L28 in it (via Engine number) and perhaps go to the effort of getting it signed off. You should not need an engineers certificate and all that hassle. However this is not legal advice. FWIW I've informed Vicroads and my insurance company. I'm on club rego without issue.

    Gear Box

Yeah speak with Lurch or Lou Mondello they have 71A parts etc..
  21. Price difference isn't huge. I think it's like $10 cheaper per wheel or something but to remove the tyre before shipping would likely be more of a pain than paying the extra to be honest. I was keen on importing the original tyres - particularly if it was to become a spare for originality sake.

Yep HS30 10552 - my 72 240z was 1 of the last HS30's to receive the 71A box. It was literally a December 1971 built car.
  23. Stivva's car. http://www.viczcar.com/forum/user/101173-stivva/
