SS30RR Posted August 22, 2012 Author Posted August 22, 2012 It's currently doing 1:01's at Tsukuba track in Japan when stock GTR's doing in 1:03's. 369PS from a 3.2L L-series. Build page made me whheep!!! hahahha. Quote
Riceburner Posted August 22, 2012 Posted August 22, 2012 Crazy Z! Love the sequential box, what price do they go for? Quote

SS30RR Posted August 23, 2012 Author Posted August 23, 2012 Anything under a minute is apparently very serious. Yup mines R34 was doing 58's back in the day. It's not far off is it : ). Interesting he uses N42 head. But everything has been enlarged i.e intake and exhaust ports. Theres a vid on it as well. Quote
peter mc Posted August 23, 2012 Posted August 23, 2012 i have lots of pics of the head it is a N42 on the outside lol the chamber is fully welded and shaped and flows 320hp jap dyno read very high Quote
peter mc Posted August 23, 2012 Posted August 23, 2012 the N42 is a good head if you spend 7000 to make it work like this one Quote
dat2kman Posted August 23, 2012 Posted August 23, 2012 Crazy Z! Love the sequential box, what price do they go for? The V8 taxi boxes are from $25k How many you want? Will require custom bellhousing. Talk to Holinger. You want to play, you gotta pay! Quote
Riceburner Posted August 23, 2012 Posted August 23, 2012 The V8 taxi boxes are from $25k How many you want? Will require custom bellhousing. Talk to Holinger. You want to play, you gotta pay! hmmm suddenly my $500 260 box doesn't seem too bad! I couldn't find any info on spring rates, seems to corner very very flat. With the extensive cage work I imagine they'd be stiff. Quote
NZeder Posted August 23, 2012 Posted August 23, 2012 I agree with Peter on this - that Jap Dyno must be reading high - no question that is a lot of engine with some big $$ parts (a custom billet 86mm stroke crank from AS-Watanabe - lots of head work going on there) but 369PS that head would have to flow 230cfm at the choke and more at the head so that is a big big ask - yes those flow numbers can be had at the head but to get 230cfm at the choke even with 50mm Mikuni's that is a lot of air required to get those numbers. So I am with Peter more like a 320hp setup. Quote
peter mc Posted August 23, 2012 Posted August 23, 2012 some pics of the head and the work to the N42 to get it to work , the head flows 320hp cost in aus 7500 Quote
SS30RR Posted August 23, 2012 Author Posted August 23, 2012 What are they doing here Pete? So world wide no ones exceeded 320hp? on a L-series pump gas? Quote
benny Posted August 23, 2012 Posted August 23, 2012 What are they doing here Pete? So world wide no ones exceeded 320hp? on a L-series pump gas? just looks like CNC porting to me Quote
luvemfast Posted August 23, 2012 Posted August 23, 2012 just looks like CNC porting to me Whats interesting about this is though, is that its only 3 axis milling. I would have thought for an engine like this, 5 axis would be used. they are also using a straight cutting oils, rather than a soluble type. Makes me wonder about about the possabilities......... Perhaps they are just correcting the inlet/exhaust face shapes?? Quote
peter mc Posted August 24, 2012 Posted August 24, 2012 that's a very crude cnc head the CNC heads we have hear are 5 ax type and the Finnish is incredable , but the question can you make more than 320 hp on pump yes on a 3.2 about 330 , just over the 105hp per L mark that why we built the 3.4 lol Jake's motor make 360hp on pump fuel and we have a full spl head at work from japan 12.7 comp race fuel only made 310hp on a 2.9 on the same dyno as gordos engine made same power on 10.5 comp pump fuel Quote
peter mc Posted August 24, 2012 Posted August 24, 2012 cnc head made hear in oz out flow the spl head by 6 cfm and the hand port heades we do now out flow the old cnc port by 20cfm just more time , les and i have been working hard to move the port so we can make it better the new port is being sent of soon to be setup for copying so it can be cnc ported , 374hp off air intake should be a cracker Quote
Administrators gav240z Posted August 24, 2012 Administrators Posted August 24, 2012 Perhaps the subject of this thread should be changed? Les and Peter are the god's of the L-series Quote

Riceburner Posted August 24, 2012 Posted August 24, 2012 I just got some stickers I'm going to put on the rocker cover, bit of a homage to OEM/JDM and PMC(aus version) with a bit of trimming I think they'll fit. I have a few spares, let me know if you fellow pmc guys want one I might be able to send you one. Quote
Johnboy Posted August 24, 2012 Posted August 24, 2012 the N42 is a good head if you spend 7000 to make it work like this one Peter are you using the N42 for the big numbers you are getting or do you prefer the P90? John Quote

I thought along these lines too a while ago, and was inspired by this rocker cover. You can buy chromed steel lettering and just place it where you like. This place sells the metal letters. http://www.stickyletters.com.au/ Quote

Not going windshield decal?...........abit more serious and racing on the windscreen. that or a nice stamp on the motors would be a good look to rock around. Quote
