Hey guys, my name is Doug. I have been involved in Zeds for a very long time

and I'm in the process of feeling the z love again.

A little about my previous cars, First datsun was a mint condition 1600 that

my father purchased for me ( After I threatened him with registering my

motorbike ) for the princely sum of $200 with a blown head gasket, car had

under 60,000 miles on it and no rust had that for about 2 years while I was

doing my apprenticeship. That car ended up with a Stroker l24b with a

reverse pattern 5 speed and replaced every single bush spring and worn

moving part in the suspension at which point,  I wrapped that around a tree

or three and broke it in half , So deciding in my youth I obviously need

more power, went out and bought a 73 240z from a car yard. Turned out the

beast was more bog then machine .

It served me for a few years even towed some of my mates Zeds with it

(d3c0y) And my other project at the time (being the shagged sandblasted

shell on eBay at the moment) Eventually the rust got to bad ie: the left

caster rod was not really attached to the chassis rail anymore and it was

parted out.

After that I purchased a 70 model zed vin hs300000160.

Spent a fortune on suspension and lost my licence so it sat in front of dads

house for a few years until I sold it to (d3c0y) jake who then Onsold it to

another rusty zed collector Magnus .

At this point I gave up on Zeds and got a corolla fast forward 7 or 8 years

and a few v8s later here I am .

So plan is to buy a 240 with a good body and originally a l28 with a cam and

triples will now be a rb25neo conversion because jake has gone out and built

the worlds fastest l series and I don’t want the slowest car. Well I think I

have crapped on long enough sorry about the punctuation I thought as a young

lad playing with cars and planning on being a mechanic was all there was in

life so didn't pay a lot of attention in highschool  .

Cheers Doug .

Nice intro Doug. it's a common story, once a Datsun man always a Datsun man. Just a word of warning, don't try and keep up with Jake because you will run out of money. Good luck with it. Cheers Gordon.

Yere was on ebay, 20b rotary engine full ohlins coil overs all round .

Has a GTR rear cradle with suspension, brakes ,R200 Lsd from the GTR.

Still trying to figure out what the front brakes are, looking like R33 gtst calipers and it has mercedes 300mm front rotors.

Got it yesterday from Sydney pulled it apart today and rust in the rear of the drivers sill and the front aswell.

Hatch beaver panel has rust and where the battery tray meets the firewall there is a rust hole .

Will start a build thread once I start getting it all together .

I got to about $15k in the supplied receipts not including buying that motor in 1995 ! With 33000km on it .

Would be nice to see some specs on the Ohlins suspension setup.

Yeah my bad ... Bilstein not Ohlins sorry .

Car has been off the road since 93 I think according to the registration sticker on the windscreen.
