My first Z is with another member who is not regularly on the site.

It was a 73 with battery tray rust, all original (white interior) red exterior (although from factory it was orange). It had good history which I don't have handy (it's at home in Australia), but at 1 stage it was restored to original condition as a wedding present (imagine that!), however the recipient was not very interested in it and it was sold on.

I bought it off a fellow in Narre Warren who had been daily driving it for some time and was selling it along with a gold 2+2.

Had I known what I do now back then. I would never have sold it. I only sold it after back luck with several other cars and because I needed the garage space for my 72' 240z.

I have photos of it after I stripped it with grand plans to do a full bare metal respray and rust treatment.

Unfortunately I just didn't have the budget as a student.

There are some photos and maybe even a video of it before I stripped it. A friend loved filming and we took some videos of it. Great car and great memories.

I'll always remember driving it to a Tennis lesson after spending lots of time polishing it up (even though the red paint was faded it came up pretty good) and the rust was not very visible externally. I'll never forget the stares the car got, people must have been confused to see L-plates on it thinking it was certainly a more expensive machine than it was at the time.

My first Zed is in Lurch's backyard waiting to be stripped, much like me...

Stripped and primed?

I am assuming that would be a 2 pac?

I still have my early 74 260 red 2-seat after some 27 yrs, the only one I've ever owned, but it's been in storage undriven for the past 8 awaiting available time for some light restoration work before it can be returned to the road.
