My worst fear realised.....Opinions or ideas needed.

in my opinion and from my experiences with people i know that bought cars from dealers the warranty ain't worth the paper they written on.

 

I realy don't think its by Nissan dealership so that warranty is actualy worth something.

 

the so called "dodgey" dealers (they all dodgey unless backed up by factory even then u can't be so sure) and they warranties. most of the work is done by the inhouse mechanic.Unless they are proper importer and have a good name for their repairs i really wouldn't bother.

even so they will dodge the repairs to be as cheap and nasty as possible and the car will be more and more of a lemon.

 

if we me (as i always do) to save bit of cash is to piss the warranty off (usualy worth between 500 to 1000  on the cars price) and do the repairs urself or take it to a Z expert. cause that will be the case anyways.

 

there are a lot of catches with those warranties. read it carefully.

Little pictures aren't easy to see, but it doesn't look bad at all.  Have you had a quote for it to be repaired?  That would then give an idea of value.  then like all Zeds;  it's heart v head (wallet!!)

I'm with MaygZ et all - put it in storage, that's got to be repairable at a reasonable price, surely!

Seem to have generated a lot of useful information, thanks guy's.

The repair bill is $8.7k, payout was $7.7k, Panel Beater prepared to do it for the $7.7k. Z32 8K, and will beat dealer down to swap cheque for car...

Now I need to store it and a 240Z.....did see a thread on storage, looks like the way forward.

Next day off is Tuesday, have arranged for my mechanic to go over it first. Just need a 280 to complete the early model collection!

It's interesting collecting this info for all of us as we then have a BD of what to expect if the worst happens.
