Hi all,

Another newbie here.  First time Zed owner.  First time forum post too!  ;D

Was grazed by the 240 bug about 10 years ago, and the seed was planted.  Finally bitten hard about a year ago ... game over! ... started 'researching' 6 months ago, and have been trawling through piles of forum posts in that time to see whats possible. Bought a '73 240z 2 months ago from Melbourne - scored one back for Sydney!  :P  And now its time to start tinkering.  Planning on some form of resto/mod - the plan of which is coming along.  Will post a project thread soon.

Gotta say, the shear and amount of information you all post is intense! So figured I should at least pop in to say hello.

If things pan out, one of the things I'd like to do, and might be able to contribute, is a full 3D scan, into CAD, of the 240z.  Its possible to do on the cheap ... just very time consuming.  Structural analysis, custom CAD parts into CNC, dynamic scenarios, virtual fitment checks...  Nerd time! haha.  That was the plan a couple months ago anyhow.  The more I figure out what I'm going to do the more I just want to get into it!

See you on the forums.

Ryde area at the moment.  But my tiny garage is a bit tight to do any decent work in - so will be building a workshop up the coast (on the family property) and move the toy up there for its 'rejuvination'... I hope.  Need room to spread out!

You're right, the quality and quantity of info posted here is amazing. Never ceases to amaze me the depth of knowledge and experience from this forum.

Thanks all for your welcomes.

I don't thinkg the previous owner of the '73 I bought was on this forum, but said he knew someone on here.  It was advertised on carsales for a while and unsuccessful on ebay, if you recall. Pciked it up when the price reduced a fair amount.  Anyway, pic below.  Blue is respray over original brown, with butterscotch interior which needs replacing.  Will post more pics when I get to the build thread.

Hello, I am out near richmond and have a few zeds myself. From what I remember of your car it is already a great car. Are you using the car in the meantime? If you need a hand with anything to get it regoed or something let me know. I will try to help out. I find its best to keep them on the road when possible as projects can get away on you and you miss all those drives, whatever condition your car is in it is a zed. cheers
