G'day,

 

I was wondering if anyone had a std L28 crank lying around could you pop it on the bathroom scales and get me a weight,

Thank's guy's, my mates has a some of 'lagging' around the exposed bit's so that might be the difference? I'm getting a std L28 crank off Scando this weekend so i'll weigh that as well. Very interesting....

My LD28 was 22kg, now its a bee's dick over 19kg.

a busy weekend in the shed with a angle grinder or something a bit more sophisticated??

I have no idea how much the machinist took off my reciprocating mass but it won't be as much as Jason's, shit, I'm still using a steel flywheel!

 

Knife-edged, balanced and nitrided (talk about an increase to surface hardness!!)...

Man, you could shave with that one of yours Jason! 14kg! she must spin up like a YZF450! baaazzzing.

 

Nitriding is on my list as well Nueby, some people say it makes the crank brittle, but I think it's worth the risk. If your not already, I'd be looking at a lighter flywheel as well, there are other benifit's other than spinning the engine up quicker.
