I'm a bit surprised by the prices of them but I'm not shocked either. They are getting more rare to find a clean Z of any description. I always thought the gap between a 2 seater and a 2+2 would close up but of course the 2 seater will remain top dog.

Wow those prices are quite high. A year ago I bought my 2 seater complete but without an engine and needing work for $2200 and i thought it was a gamble at the time. Looking at prices these days for zeds i think i got it cheap.

OK I guess I should chime in being that I have recently sold 2 x 2+2's.  The value of a 2+2 has risen heaps and i think it is because there are a number of people who want a ZED but don't really want to have to do the work, so they are happy to buy one that is done and they will pay for it.  A 2+2 that is RWC and looks the part will sell for 10+K all day long.

It's called user friendly, what else can you have some cheap spirited hobby driving in and take the family on route as well, enjoy the day with very little difference to a 2 seater coupe other than a perceived opinion about whether the looks are good or not so good?? as they say it is all a matter of opinion!! In the end it's a Zed an S30 that will appeal to someone and is appreciating daily in value and interest!! Lynton 8)

back seat + female + barry white + room for sub box = 2+2

no back seat + mrs palmer + barry crocker + no room for sub box = 2 seater.

For the humourless this is a joke. I would type LOL at this point to show it is a joke but I wasnt ( lolling that is ) . Obligatory 3 or because I am feeling frisky 4 happy faces to follow.

;D ;D ;D ;D

On a serious note. I do wonder about hitting above the 10 k though. you get into some rarified territory with those sorts of prices.

Just done it twice ;D ;D ;D ;D with someone else wanting a custom REV build and willing to pay for it...only problem is...TIME (now that comes with a high cost!)

I say enjoy the 2+2 for what they are and also enjoy the 2 seaters as well. Worst thing we can do here is shoot ourselves in the foot by selling clean Z's cheapish.

Still trying to decide how much to put mine on for with original motor and RWC.....

Any ideas would be great.

While people continue to hot rod Z cars us guys with original cars will be looking good as the years go buy as long as we don't let our kids drive them.

That should get a few laughs.

I don't think everyone can get used to the high prices they are fetching now...gone are the days of picking up a average/good 2 seater for $2500; as I did with my first Zed around the mid nineties. Now that I would love to find another one, I'm looking at least $10K! Like someone mentioned in Glen's thread; supply demand. Now that everyone wants one, prices are only going one way....up!

10k Glen - then let the buyer haggle if he wants... ;)

I'm more or less thinking 12K, don't freak out but that's what i feel its worth to me. Its mint inside and out and at the end of the day i wouldn't sell it for 10K anymore. I bet you a young fella picks it up as they go crazy over these things. All the young fellas look and then look again and then ask what it is, i even had someone ask me if it was for sale one day down the street. I think its the young peeps that will start to drive up the prices of 2+2 Z's. The 2 seater will remain a mature aged male sports car but i think the young kids will get hooked on 2+2's. Now saying that i would accept 12K but i would have to list higher as everyone loves to beat down the asking price. And if it takes a while to sell its all the more time i get to spend with it again hence the decision to revert back to stock now. Should be for sale officially in a couple of weeks time.

As mentioned its really adjusting yourself to the prices that are climbing what seems like every few months. In saying all this i cant ever see a 2+2 worth over 20K but think back, when did you think a good one would fetch over 10K....

Then why did you ask the community how much it was worth if you already knew what you wanted?! ???

I guess i wanted to see what you thought it was worth, I'm not knocking what you placed on it as that's what i was after, i asked it, you gave it no harm done.

Well Glen I beg to differ, I reckon high teens for any great original 2+2 but restored and up to the mark $20k plus, it still costs the same to insure and repair/replace original parts end of story ....its all about the perception!!!
