garvice Posted August 23, 2024 Posted August 23, 2024 (edited) Price DROP!!! Hi All! It’s time for my beloved Z to find a new home. I had big plans for her but I can’t give her the attention that she deserves. She is approaching 50 and looks damn fine for her age, but she would look amazing if the right owner could give her some tender loving care. I took her off the road when I blew a head gasket and decided to do an RB conversion. I got the RB26 and 300zx turbo 5speed mounted in the car, then I had a son, then another son, then a Datsun 1600 stole her attention, then another son. Then I started a business and customer’s cars took priority. Life moved on and she got unfairly ignored. I’d love to get her running and fix her blemishes, but I don’t think it’s fair that she waits any longer. She currently has: - RB26 long block rd28 sump, intake no exhaust/hot side accessories - 300zx turbo 5spd with RB26 bellhousing - Motec m600 (new flying lead loom) - Reconditioned dashboard no cracks - RX7 FD series 6 front seats - Paint is looking rough but body still looks solid. A 50 year old car has some rust but she’s better than most her age. - I have the valence and bumpers - bumpers are solid but need polishing/rechroming - HID lights with proper deflectors (don’t blind oncoming traffic) - new but not fitted - Willing to sell engine/gearbox/car separately and would be looking at the following. - Engine $8.5k - Gearbox $1.8k - Motec M600 with flying lead $1.5k - Car as Rolling shell $12k Build thread here: https://www.viczcar.com/forums/topic/7119-gas-260z-rb26-build-thread/ Brad Edited February 3 by garvice PRICE DROP and new photos Quote

garvice Posted October 28, 2024 Author Posted October 28, 2024 No hits, so advertising motor/gearbox elsewhere and readjusting my expectations on price. Quote
garvice Posted November 5, 2024 Author Posted November 5, 2024 PRICE DROP, don't think I can justify much cheaper than this. Come on people, surely someone is looking for a christmas present for their partner? Asking for forgiveness is better than permission. Quote
gilltech Posted November 7, 2024 Posted November 7, 2024 (edited) If I were you I'd reassemble as much as possible. Console, wiring, interior, headlamps, panels, wipers, bumpers etc. The more complete it looks the better. Take lots more photos from all sides, inside including hatch and spare wheel area, and underneath, and with all the plastic sheeting removed from the engine bay so people can actually see condition and where the project has stalled. Presentation is everything, first impressions really count. Better yet if you can finish off the motor with exhaust etc and get it running. What happened to the original L26 motor & gearbox? Is the project reversible back to originality? Not every Z fan would want a modified car. Best. Edited November 7, 2024 by gilltech grammar OdinZ 1 Quote
garvice Posted November 11, 2024 Author Posted November 11, 2024 Hi Gilltech, Thanks for the advice, I'll try and get more photos. If I had the time/space to continue working on the car than I wouldn't be selling it, but it really hasn't had appreciable work done on it in ~13 years, so I just don't see it happening. When I bought the car it had an L28 turbo and 5spd. I sold all that running gear when I started putting the RB26 in it. I.e. It hasn't been original for a long time. Everything is always reversable, but obviously not without effort/sourcing all the parts etc. Quote
