Well , I definately have done it this time .

Due to the want for more  i.e. more power ,more acceleration and more speed I bought the 240z that was advertised south of Brisbane.

Yes I first checked my life insurance policy and it eliminates a payout to my LOVING wife if she murders me.

Then as with all gutsy decisions ,I waited till she wasn't home and did the deal over the phone.

"WE" are now the proud owners of a Lexus motored silver 240z.

The car still needs a fair bit to get her up and running, but I am excited by the project, I would love to do some sort of targa rally eventually. Start at a basic level and slowly move up.

As of all great ideas there is an equal and opposite idea [i bet your getting my drift]

So I have been informed by my wise and previously understan... um ..oblivio....um....patient wife that two cars are to make themselves available for sale.See no pressure from her, it's the cars  decision which will go.

At this stage it is between a  yellow 1979 280 zx[ 120k orig. kms] , a  yellow 1977 mustang celica and the cars reckon a very yella CHEV Z.

Pauly, I bought the car after it didn't bring a bid on ebay, approx. 10 days later.

20% less

Spoke to the engine importer / loom/computer guru about the car etc before purchasing, he was very obliging and checked his records for me .The eng. has only done 44,000 kms ,he also stated the owner was concientious in care and preparation.

The shell is A1, no rust

The ebay number was 290294908414, punch that in and it should come up.

The only draw back was driving the  3350 kms round trip towing a trailer. Our commode sure didn't like towing in 37 degree heat, yep we travelled most of NSW without the aircon. going.

Definately getting to old for that many km's in 3.5 days

I think it's a decent buy,leave your honest opinions good or bad....Steve

sounds like that old commodore is due for retirement?

maybe the missus needs a new car?

Get where im going?

We bought a SX4 for my missus, and no more than 2 months after it was home came the excuse "But you got a brand new car, i can at least get a second hand motorbike" ;D

Lol it is a barely second hand motor bike.

Looks very hot. Good buy mate.

Scott and I know what its like to tow in heat with a commi. drove to newcastle (pritty much) and back in 11 hours in 40c heat. Most of the trip back he ended up with the heater on and us hanging out the windows to try to not be like the other 200 cars on the side of the road on the trip. Got the old valiant back to the workshop though. Big plans for that one. Should make a nice bbq and a great storage box. As well as parts for an old ute.

Nice should make for a bit of fun alright. I must admit a V8 in a Z has its appeal I've even considered engine swaps in my 240z and I like to think I'm a purist in many respects.

Keep us updated, and send us all a youtube vid when you get it running, love the sound of V8 Zeds.
