620Z Posted December 8, 2008 Posted December 8, 2008 Hi guys, well a few of us are doing one last sprint for the year at Sandwon. It is an evening event from 5-9pm at Sandown on friday the 19th December. Cost is $150- and a max of 30 cars. Who is going:- Craig in his V8 Zed Gordon in his GTR Dave Robertson in his 240Z Ben Winston in his GTR Justin Mahar in his 1600 If any of you guys want to join us then get in quick. Only about 6 places left. I don't think you have to be a member of a club or have a CAMS licence since it is more of a test & training night. But we will definately be sneaking in some timed laps. Instructors will be available to go around with you if you want. Details are here. Give them a call or let me know if you want to join in the fun. http://driverdynamics.com/trackdays.html Cheers Quote
XRQTR Posted December 8, 2008 Posted December 8, 2008 Put me down for this, I'm a definite starter, is there any forms that need to be filled out for pre reg or something?? Funny thing is I was just talking yesterday to the guy that's gonna rebuild the bottom end and he was telling me that Winton does it every Friday. I know it's a bit of a hike out their but seeing as people will be taking leave over the summer period what do you fellas say we look into it one Friday night?? Quote
reverendzed Posted December 8, 2008 Posted December 8, 2008 I would have loved to have a go Craig, but I think my second gear syncro problem might lose the fun for me....I'll probably have to wait for another event. Hope you guys have an awesome time. Rev Quote
XRQTR Posted December 8, 2008 Posted December 8, 2008 Actually just noticed this Fridays date is also up on the site Quote
XRQTR Posted December 8, 2008 Posted December 8, 2008 Payed and confirmed yeeeehaaaa Ok so Craig is it the usual shit with the requirements?? Helmet, long sleeve pants and top, no nylons?? Quote
620Z Posted December 8, 2008 Author Posted December 8, 2008 Yeah Stef all the usual stuff. But please you check with them about CAMS, fire extinguisher etc. I don't want you getting there and not able to run for some unforseen reason. Good to have you on board. Now we can see your car in action. I thought Sulio & Lurch might have been in on this. Quote
XRQTR Posted December 8, 2008 Posted December 8, 2008 Ye just left a msg on Sulio's phone telling him to get his lazy ass onto the track, I mean shit it's only around the corner from where the car sleeps anyway. ye will check but I think these are like driver ed days so should be good. Quote
XRQTR Posted December 8, 2008 Posted December 8, 2008 Ye just rang em, you do need a fire extinguisher but no cams licence, helmet of course and long sleeve top and pants. Might have to get the coil overs sooner than I thought LOL, the back end dives in when I power out of the corners, means I have to also get my ignition sorted as well as give Wilson carbs another visit. Quote
C.A.R. Posted December 8, 2008 Posted December 8, 2008 No CAMS license needed, eh... Might see if my Br0 want's to run too... Quote
C.A.R. Posted December 8, 2008 Posted December 8, 2008 Booked & payed! I haven't run at Sandown in years, so it should be interesting Apparently there's only 5 spots left though... Quote
620Z Posted December 9, 2008 Author Posted December 9, 2008 Ha Ha glad to have you on board Lurch. Should be a top night. Quote
Toecutter Posted December 9, 2008 Posted December 9, 2008 I'll see if I can get my rear brackets sorted in time. I'm off to Sydney this arvo and back Thursday. See how I go this weekend. Sulio Quote
luvemfast Posted December 9, 2008 Posted December 9, 2008 Tis very tempting, shall have to check with the war and finance minister Quote
620Z Posted December 9, 2008 Author Posted December 9, 2008 I think that date might be full now? If you are keen you better make a call quickly to lock your self in. Quote
C.A.R. Posted December 11, 2008 Posted December 11, 2008 So... Who wants to drop letter bombs in the local Sandown residents letterboxes? > Quote
620Z Posted December 11, 2008 Author Posted December 11, 2008 The sad news is that this event has been cancelled since the local Sandown residents had a whinge about noise. Steff I think you are the last one to be informed. You can email them for a refund. Shame would have been a great night. Oh well bring on a sprint there next year. (Just the twilight sessions are cancelled) Quote
XRQTR Posted December 11, 2008 Posted December 11, 2008 Ye got the call, but I found it strange he wanted my bank details when I payed by Visa, I said can't you just reverse the payment he said he's at home and doesn't have all the details, so I said I'd be in touch with the girls in the office. Well Winton still run Friday nights don't they?? Bit of a hike but still could make it happen if you're all still keen, just a thought. Hey what if we swap it for the Feb 14th full track day?? Just looked at the calender and it's not booked out yet Quote
XRQTR Posted December 11, 2008 Posted December 11, 2008 So... Who wants to drop letter bombs in the local Sandown residents in letterboxes? > After hearing this I rekn this aint such a bad idea Quote
XRQTR Posted December 11, 2008 Posted December 11, 2008 Well I've just changed mine over to the Feb 14 full track day, better this way (for me LOL) as I don't have to rush getting suspension and tyres and everything else done before next week. I just noticed it's right after the Thredbo thing, makes no difference for me, I'm a 99.9% for Thredbo but would most likely do a 2 night/3 day thing anyway so would still give me a full day to prep.
