Toecutter Posted December 15, 2005 Posted December 15, 2005 I was thinking about getting these mirrors. What do you guys think? Quote
zedevan Posted December 15, 2005 Posted December 15, 2005 i reakon they are sexy, i was thinking of getting them and then seeing them on this car confirmed that they looked cool (there's a yellow one on classiczcars that has them also) i was wanting to get ones that side on had a really triangular profile, but i'm pretty sure i want to get fender mirrors coz its different, but then these make the car look very sleek and long which is sweet and they can be mounted in the stock spot, i personally perfer them alot more to the ones you currently have... Administrators gav240z Posted December 16, 2005 Administrators Posted December 16, 2005 Hey mate not sure myself I'd have to see them mounted. I guess it depends on the look your going for but I prefer the fender/bullet mirrors myself more period authentic but I guess your wheels are more modern so it might work. I've seen this style on a Honda S2000 and liked them but not sure about a Z. Quote
Mr Camouflage Posted December 16, 2005 Posted December 16, 2005 They look like they should be on a F1 car. Dont know if I like them yet. On modernised looking z (big modern rims etc) they'd be ok. Quote
Zeddophile Posted December 17, 2005 Posted December 17, 2005 Rarespares have something similar on their website.... Quote
Toecutter Posted December 17, 2005 Author Posted December 17, 2005 Rare spares! Thats them. $161.00 a pair inc GST. hmmm the bullet mirrors are $60 ea, they're nice too. something to think about! https://rsp-secure.com/shop/default.asp Sulio Quote
Zeddophile Posted December 18, 2005 Posted December 18, 2005 Yeah, I was eyeing off those chrome bullets too.... Quote

Toecutter Posted December 18, 2005 Author Posted December 18, 2005 Thanks Ben. I'll watch the auction, still not sure if I want the bullet type though. They are nice. Do you want this pair on auction though? Quote
Zeddophile Posted December 18, 2005 Posted December 18, 2005 Nah, I've gone off Ebay - I had the winning bid on a different set of mirrors that would have gone great on my zed, with about 10 hours to go, and the guy ended the auction. Plus, I need the money for those wheels Quote
Azon Posted February 26, 2006 Posted February 26, 2006 I was thinking about getting these mirrors. What do you guys think? IMHO those mirrors dont complement the Z shape at all and would suit something more boxy. Quote
Toecutter Posted February 26, 2006 Author Posted February 26, 2006 yer i think i will go for the bullet type Quote
oldmates260z Posted April 6, 2007 Posted April 6, 2007 Old topic, but I am interested in what you guys are putting on. I have one Zed with the original mirrors but you cannot see anything out the passanger side. Surely there are some after market ones around that are magnified that are better. Found these ones on the US ebay, they look good. The brand seems to be TANAX. Has anyone seen these around? Quote
nat0_240_chevZ Posted April 7, 2007 Posted April 7, 2007 yea i think i have one of these mirrors on a shell floating around in my workshop!!! not painted or anything but i reckon they look dull and lack the z thing about them, if it pops up ill take a pic, but cant be bothered otherwise to hunt for it! JP240z Posted April 7, 2007 Posted April 7, 2007 nothing shows off an imaculate zed more than original mirrors IMO. Quote
PZG302 Posted April 8, 2007 Posted April 8, 2007 For a good mirror that you can see out of and complements the Z shape, take a look at Ford Mirrors from the XY through to XC models, I have a set of GT mirrors on my race car and they work well for vision and the looks suit the era. If you get the genuine ones the mirrors do not move in the housing at all. Only down side is they are getting expensie and hard to find at times. Quote

They weren't exactly the cheapest option, but by far the better looking mirrors in my opinion. Luke Quote
