TDoherty
I'm wanting to buy an engine stand suitable for a 260z engine. After some investigation (couldn't find anything specific on the forum) it seems alot of the product descriptions say suitable for 4cyl, V6, V8 engines. My question is are they suitable for a straight 6? What have you successfully used, keeping in mind I need it to be mobile (without busting my boiler!) to move around the garage as required. Tks! daretobedifferent
Similar to what PB260Z said, you'll be fine with most stands. If you're really worried, the 2,000 lbs / 900 kg ones will suffice. If it helps, I have the Kincrome 907kg one which is not worth buying RRP for, but I purchased it for less than the price of ones at local autoparts stores because I used to work near their outlet centre and was friends with the staff. You can find ones with a similar design for a lot less that will do the same job. theremm
I'm using this one from Trade Tools for a Toyota 12HT engine (about 330kg), really happy with it. https://www.tradetools.com/renegade-industrial-680kg-rolling-engine-stand Also using a standard ~450kg stand for my L28. I prefer the 680kg stand, think it is a much better design. TDoherty
