Need to replace the front rotors and pads on my 240z. I've got the standard sumitomo calipers. Doesn't seem to be much choice available other than protex rotors and bendix pads. Rotors are the main concern as they are below the minimum thickness..

Surely there are some better options out there? Any recommendations?

Get in touch with Warren @ AllZParts - he might have a better brand of rotor available.

"Better" in what way ? Race  / street / etc ?

You could give these guys a try - https://www.brakesdirect.com.au/ . I've bought brake stuff off them for a while for both race car and street cars, great service and good on price.

I'm currently running a set of slotted rotors supplied by them (240K rotors used on a 1600) which from memory (but could be wrong, was a a while ago....) are Protex. Also running a set of their QFM A1RM compound pads. Both work well.

Thanks, I'll check them out too. It's just a street car, so the protex are probably fine, however I hadn't heard the best things about them so wanted to investigate prior to buying. Don't have any first hand experience with the product myself though.

I bought some centric rotors on ebay from the USA when they had their global shipping program at a discount shipping rate (2015).

Surprisingly they are still very good on my race car with race pads.

For street RDA or DBA should be fine.

Ebay does have a few options but once you factor in the cost of international shipping the prices become ridiculous unfortunately. Called brakesdirect this morning and RDA/DBA no longer make rotors for the 240z. Tried a few times to get through to Warren @ All Z parts but no answer still. Will try again throughout the week but at this stage looks like Protex it is..
