240Z Rust Repair Panels

Hi All

 

Embarking on a full rotisserie restoration of my 240z and wondering where to purchase quality rust repair panels in Australia?

 

At this stage i need the following:-

 

Left Rear Quarter Lower Front Section (Dog Leg)

Right Rear Quarter Lower Front Section (Dog Leg)

Rear Panel, Upper Top (Hatch Sill)

Rare spares for the slam panel for the hatch.

 

Tabco in the US for the dog legs.

 

Or fabricate yourself locally. Best options.

So maybe he does bring a bit of stuff in. Or perhaps it's older stock. No primer coating yet no surface rust.

Anybody here used these sections? Are they a decent steel thickness?

I bought rare spares sills (section below door) and found them to not be usable in their complete form because the shape was wrong. They didn't protrude far enough out at the top and sat in too close on the bottom sill. I was lucky that the top of my sill was ok and so I spliced the new ones in along the whole length of the curved face. A lot more work than it should have been and the final result was not as good as it should have been.

 

The fault could have been then were just not folded on the pattern, or the pattern is out.

 

For sills if you later need them there may be a better Aus source or complete sills from US if you have the money.
