Canter.Kat Posted November 15, 2015 Posted November 15, 2015 Hi everyone, I made this account in the hope to find someone who can help me with a road worthy certificate. I have taken the car to now two mechanics they have both listed different things wrong with the car. It is starting to get way too expensive unfortunately my mechanic is away for few months so unable to give me one. Does anyone know someone who can do road worthy and is not that fussy? The car is mechanically fine only issue I'm having with every road worthy place is they kept telling me the rear bar needs to be lined up which is way too expensive to take to panel beater. Back lights are working & secure, boot closes / open, only the right side that not 100 precent lined up Can anyone help?? Happy to travel I'm located south east suburbs. 0499021508 can even contact me if you are rwc person Thanks in advance Quote
smugley Posted November 16, 2015 Posted November 16, 2015 No such thing as a dodgy RWC these days . Big fines and loss of RWC license to the work shop if caught , so it's not in their best interest. Good luck in finding one . Quote
hmd Posted November 16, 2015 Posted November 16, 2015 smugley, what's your username on TYP901 forums? Quote
Canter.Kat Posted November 16, 2015 Author Posted November 16, 2015 I don't need dodgy rwc I just need someone who not going to list things that do not need to be fixed for rwc. I know there are people around you just have to know someone hoping someone will know someone. Quote
Linton Posted November 16, 2015 Posted November 16, 2015 (edited) Its either roadworthy or not fix it or don't, but if you keep shopping around instead of using the first tester then its your fault they are finding something else wrong, With the strict policies now in place of taking photo's etc roadworthy testers are not likely to risk their license to give you rwc for a vehicle that doesn't comply, and I also don't get why you would want to risk your life and that of your family in a vehicle that's not 100% roadworthy. put up a photo of the fault for us to look at I don't mean to preach but just saying... Canter.Kat Posted November 16, 2015 Author Posted November 16, 2015 How is it risking my families safety? When or that is the issue is rear bump does not lined up 100%? I have been driving this car around for a few months already with a permit Quote
Administrators gav240z Posted November 16, 2015 Administrators Posted November 16, 2015 Please put a photo up of the fault you're talking about, I'm not sure what it is you're talking about, so hard to advise if this is indeed an issue or not? Quote
Retro Z Posted November 16, 2015 Posted November 16, 2015 What car do you have? Assuming a s30? If its only a rear bumper that got the fail then you have it easy. You can buy brand new rear bumpers for $200—$350. The cost of the 2 rwc tests you’ve already done would’ve costed the same if not more already. Is there more to it? What else did they fail? It would help for you to introduce yourself and be active on the forum a little longer before asking for help. Good luck. Quote
dat2kman Posted November 16, 2015 Posted November 16, 2015 I'm guessing it more than just a rear bumper "not lining up" What else dont the two different shops like? Quote
Canter.Kat Posted November 17, 2015 Author Posted November 17, 2015 Rear bar does not line up because the boot was pushed in. I have put a new boot on the car but the rear bar / inside the boot has to come out by 5 cms so that it lines up 100% - panel beater quotes are well over 800$ mark. One mechanic said rear bar needs to line up plus the headlights when turned on do not lined up were they should so they need to be readjusted Second mechanic said rear bar needs to line up plus oil leak, rear tyres, wheel bearings *tyres have been replaced so that is bs. Already been checked by mechanic has no oil leaks Anyway I have found someone so car will be rwc this week Quote
Cozza Posted November 17, 2015 Posted November 17, 2015 Yeah finding an honest mechanic can be hard these days. Having a licence to do pink slips CAN be used by some less honest mechanics to on sell repairs that may not actually be required. Once you find a good mechanic who you trust, stick to them. Good luck with the rwc. Quote
