How does everyone store their windscreen and hatch glass while they're out of the car?

Is there a particular way they should be stored to minimise the risk of cracking (e.g. on edge)?  Any ideas for keeping them safe and out of the way would be appreciated.

I haven't taken the windscreen glass out yet (for this reason) but my driver door glass is inside my second bedroom behind a desk where it is safe from accidentally being broken.

Go to a windscreen retail place and grab a couple of cartons and store where nobody goes! Behind desks, or beds etc..

I've got my windscreen sitting right next to me in my bedroom and my rear glass behind my dresser :)

All i've done is they have towels wrapped around the edges then a blanket over top of that to keep the towels in place. Drove 1400kms with them like that in the back of the car and they were fine.

All the new glass for my chugger spent it's life in the cardboard box it came in in  the garage in a spot where shit wouldn't fall on it. It survived near ten years no problem and a house move.

i still have the original glass from the chuggger tucked away under the house on edge and stacked together in an out of the way spot just in case the new stuff gets damaged and it is OK as long as I am aware of it stacking other car parts around them.

For short term storage I have had screens out of the way on panel stands wrapped in horse blankets and haven't broken one yet.

But if you can get it inside the house and tucked away where it won't be broken all the better

I got all my glass wrapped up in a bedsheet and bubble wrap and stored underneath my house. My interior and new parts like tailights and chrome bumpers etc are underneath my bed or behind my tv unit ;D

Last time I needed to store a screen, put it in a windscreen box then in the back of the walkin robe in the spare room.

Failing that under a bed is a good spot.

A large screwdriver is not a windscreen removal tool. Just saying...

Mine are just leaning on a shed wall with a towel underneath and on top. Same as the windows.
