Administrators gav240z Posted May 22, 2015 Administrators Posted May 22, 2015 Rev - I might be able to help find you 1 if you get really desperate seen a couple for sale in Japan, only problem is good second hand ones can be quite expensive. Which almost makes it worth buying the pair (NOS) that rare spares have. Quote

Administrators gav240z Posted May 24, 2015 Administrators Posted May 24, 2015 I know that you are looking for door cards not trim...but has any one bought these skins http://zzxdatsun.com/catSoftTrim.php No but I was looking at the option, but I managed to get a good pair of second hand door cards for both my S30z's. However if I was to do this again I'd look at the fiberglass backing and new material like the link above. Simply because the masonite warps with moisture and where the clips go on the rear side the masonite always deteriorates or breaks. With the cost of OEM units being anywhere from $600 - $1000 depending on where you shop this seems like a sensible more durable alternative, of course if a concourse restoration is your goal. Well you can only really opt for OEM. But maybe nobody would notice if you didn't? . Quote
reverendzed Posted May 25, 2015 Author Posted May 25, 2015 Interesting thing I found out yesterday is that the 260Z Coupe door cards I have fit the series 1 240Z perfectly (obviously holes are in a different place) but with some very light mods they will work fine. I'm going to see how I can take some moulds from these and see if i can't make something local. I painted the back of the cards with POR15 which has given them some real added strength and should stop further warping and deterioration. Quote
Moderators PB260Z Posted May 25, 2015 Moderators Posted May 25, 2015 I painted the back of the cards with POR15 which has given them some real added strength and should stop further warping and deterioration. Sealing the back of the door cards is a really clever idea, minimal cost and removes the risk of any further damage due to moisture ingress. I like it Quote
