rb240 Posted May 19, 2014 Posted May 19, 2014 Hi everyone! My name's Belinda and I'm another new member from Melbourne. I've been reading the forums for a while and planning to start a 240z or 260z project once I had the space for it. I found a rolling shell advertised last week and went to check it out the next day. It seemed to be pretty well suited to my project, so I put a deposit on it and will be picking it up in the next week or so. It will have to go into storage for a few months, but I'm eventually planning to drop in an RB25DET. I'm sure I'll have plenty of questions for you all once I get started. Quote
Retro Z Posted May 19, 2014 Posted May 19, 2014 Welcome. And congrats on your purchase. What suburb do you reside in? I have 3 zeds at my place and also doing a rb25 swap in one aswell. So if you want to pick my brain or need help with anything i'd be glad to help a fellow Melbournian. Quote

Riceburner Posted May 19, 2014 Posted May 19, 2014 Welcome Belinda, look forward to seeing the progress and hopefully a build thread when it all gets started. What are the plans for it, daily driver, weekender or track car? Quote

I have originals if you'd like to trade? Yeah, there's a bit of rust left underneath that needs to be taken care of. I'm not sure yet who I'm going to take it to, so any recommendations would be appreciated. I'll be doing as much of the work as I can myself, but rust repair is outside of my skillset. I'll let you know about the step plates after I've picked up the car. Quote
DreamZproject Posted May 19, 2014 Posted May 19, 2014 Can't vouch for anyone else, but if you want the job done 100% properly hit up Lurch. Make sure you don't just show him the rail end, but the doors and tail light area as well (oh and left hand dogleg). Quote
Administrators gav240z Posted May 20, 2014 Administrators Posted May 20, 2014 Welcome, a big project for you there. Hope you're ready to get your hands dirty like the rest of us in the middle of such projects? Good luck with it . Quote
Moderators PB260Z Posted May 20, 2014 Moderators Posted May 20, 2014 Welcome, Good luck with the build, you will find plenty of help and advice here. + 1 on recomending Lurch's work. Cheers PB Quote
Moderators Zedman240® Posted May 20, 2014 Moderators Posted May 20, 2014 Another welcome and yeah, post pics when your zed is delivered! RB swaps are great for a zed driven daily on the road; smooth and quiet power delivery! Quote
rb240 Posted June 1, 2014 Author Posted June 1, 2014 I picked up the car during the week. Here are some photos: The passenger's side dogleg: The driver's side door jamb: The underside of the roof (previous owner replaced the roof skin): Quote
