Enzo Posted December 6, 2018 Author Posted December 6, 2018 Time flies when you don't have any to spare. Blast from the past. A big thank you to Brett and James at MIA Engines in Dee Why Sydney for the excellent work on my converted N42 head. I had dropped the head off 4 years ago and said that I wasn't in any rush to have it finished because I had other things on my plate at the time. Well!!! Time gets away from you. I picked up the head at the end of October and I confess that it has sat in the box since then. Anyway, now I have some pictures. Chambers have been welded and reshaped. Fuel injection cutouts welded also. Ports reshaped. New valve guides, seats, DSI big valves (45/36.5mm) also longer to compensate for the .560" lift camshaft (also from DSI) and keep the geometry correct. New springs, Chrome moly retainers and new rockers and lash pads. I also have just completed the oil pan conversion using an internal Tomei universal oil flow adapter around the oil pickup. Riceburner Posted December 6, 2018 Posted December 6, 2018 Looks great Enzo! Anymore details on the sump setup. Looks like a nismo style, did you add the cooling fins? Quote
Enzo Posted December 7, 2018 Author Posted December 7, 2018 The oil pan probably wasn't needed but it was an interesting conversion. Copied form pictures on the internet. Basically a cut and shut with standard depth with wings on the side for increased capacity. Fins were spot welded to the base. Just 10mm flat steel. A second drain hole was added. All welding was done with the pan bolted to the block and using compressed air to keep the pan cool when welding to stop distortion. I'll post some pictures of the internals tomorrow. ( Wrinkle finish red paint makes it go faster and hides my mig welding. Lol ). David. gav240z 1 Quote

Enzo Posted December 8, 2018 Author Posted December 8, 2018 A few extra pictures of the head and oil pan. Pan needs a little bit to finish off internally. KatoKid and theremm 2 Quote
