Need this hole in firewall identified!!

Ive looked through all my old pictures, and i cant for the life of me find what the hole circled in the picture is for. any help?

FWIW, and that is probably nothing, my 280ZX doesn't have that hole in the firewall

Isn't the speedo cable hole more to the left, more inline with the speedo?

It's the hole where the Choke cables pass through.

Thanks Lurch! And yes speedo cable is over to the left, close to where the engine bay wire harness passes through the firewall

It's the hole where the Choke cables pass through.

And that explains why the ZX doesn't have it, EFI = No Choke.

 

Is there any question the rust master can't answer ?

My choke goes through that spot on the passenger side of the trans tunnel.

My choke cables went through the passenger side as well, but then again, my passenger side is your driver side.

 

That is the choke cable hole. I keep forgetting about the choke, since I haven't had one for about 5 years... lol
