Agno Posted November 20, 2013 Posted November 20, 2013 Hi guys, I'm chasing a driver's side door to suit a 240Z. I have a passenger door and I'd like a matching door that hasn't been cut up that I can put on my car. Can be rusty as long as it's repairable. And a photo to get people talking Alex Quote
Scoota G Posted November 20, 2013 Posted November 20, 2013 That'll buff out. I have two drivers side and only onae pazsenger side Quote
Retro Z Posted November 20, 2013 Posted November 20, 2013 I reckon that guard can be popped back out and maybe only require a skim of filler. It doesn't look that bad. Take it off and jump on it a few times Quote
Agno Posted November 20, 2013 Author Posted November 20, 2013 I pulled it out and it is quite badly rippled. Interested in selling the passenger guard Mark? Quote
Administrators gav240z Posted November 20, 2013 Administrators Posted November 20, 2013 Oh dear, did we have a brain fart? Did the wheel fall off? At least this didn't happen? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jv4m41viy4I I agree those old guards are solid compared with a modern car, with enough work you could probably get it right again. Nice wheels though... Quote

Doesn't look to bad but once they are out of shape it can be hard to get them right without an insane amount of filler. Perhaps yours would suit somone fitting flares. I do have one i can part with, i'll post up some pictures very soon. Quote

Nice wheels though... I have no idea how it happened Gav, I took the front wheels off the night before to inspect the front end and grease it up and I remember specifically thinking to myself that i should tighten everything up because I knew I would forget if I didn't... So I did. Nek minut wheel rolling down the road next morning. Quote
Administrators gav240z Posted November 21, 2013 Administrators Posted November 21, 2013 At least you have a sense of humour about it, could have been much worse also. If you were traveling a lot faster or driving fast around a long bend etc.. Did you sustain any other damage? Were you driving slow at the time it happened? Quote
Agno Posted November 21, 2013 Author Posted November 21, 2013 I had to replace the ball joint as it was the "load bearing" piece of vehicle once the wheel departed from the car and I replaced the wheel studs as a precaution. At the time of the accident I was doing about 20km/h as I had slowed down to try and limp home with the vibration. Cars can be fixed and it's all just a part of the "fun" I guess. If I didn't have a laugh at myself every now and then I think I would have gone insane by now. Quote
zedevan Posted December 4, 2013 Posted December 4, 2013 Have you had any luck finding a fender? I'm also in the hunt for one as the one I bought as a replacement for my damaged one I'm pretty sure isn't a factory stamping and the fit is annoying me. Quote
C.A.R. Posted December 5, 2013 Posted December 5, 2013 Woops... Bring it down to me Alex - I 'll be able to shrink the ripples out of it... Quote
Administrators gav240z Posted December 5, 2013 Administrators Posted December 5, 2013 Not looking hard enough . http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Datsun-260z-Front-Gaurds-/331078451104?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&fits=Model%3A240%20Z&hash=item4d15d03fa0&_uhb=1 If either of you do buy this, I can probably pick it up for you.
