strt260 Posted November 4, 2013 Posted November 4, 2013 Hi All, been following this great site for some time now and thought it would be a good idea to step forward and maybe meet you all - in a virtual sense at least! The Z in the garage is a light blue 260 coupe with an L28 with twin SU's. I've done some minor work over the years but have recently found myself with a little extra time and a re-ignited passion for Z's. Perhaps that Petrolicious piece, found through this site, "Dare to be Different in a Datsun" had something to do with that! http://www.petrolicious.com/dare-to-be-different-in-a-datsun-240z So had my baby for about 14yrs, which really just helped replace the hole that my first car left behind over 20 yrs ago. It was a red 240z with worked 350 chev, T400 and wide rims with mild flares. All low key and tasteful of course. You don't need to try to make a statement with that sort of configuration.. all in the past though. Still, it shows that once you fall for that S30 shape, it's hard to let it go. Anyways, just wanted to say that the site has been highly valuable so far and the more active members seem to be cool people and really knowledgeable. Keep up the great work!! George Quote
dat240z Posted November 4, 2013 Posted November 4, 2013 Welcome mate, throw up some pictures. The car sounds good Quote

Administrators gav240z Posted November 5, 2013 Administrators Posted November 5, 2013 Welcome George if you figure out a way to upload photos send us some pictures of your first hot rod zed. Great to see Sydney people coming out of the wood work lately. Quote
strt260 Posted November 5, 2013 Author Posted November 5, 2013 Thanks for the warm welcome all. Will get some shots up soon-ish. Need to get the old shots of the 240z scanned as they predate digital cameras! Will throw up some of the blue Z at the same time. Cheers. Quote
strt260 Posted November 13, 2013 Author Posted November 13, 2013 Here are some shots of the 240Z w/V8. I'll hold off on shots of the light blue Z until I can get it back in to one piece in a couple of months. Hope you guys enjoy them at least for their old school theme, the scanned photos certainly show their age. Quote
strt260 Posted November 13, 2013 Author Posted November 13, 2013 ...and of course the interior and the heart of the car! Quote
Administrators gav240z Posted November 13, 2013 Administrators Posted November 13, 2013 What wheels were they mate? They look very SSR Mesh in style, but slightly different like perhaps locally made Aussie wheels? Quote
strt260 Posted November 13, 2013 Author Posted November 13, 2013 Thanks Agno, a lot of the work had been done by previous owner and he'd done well with it. Not too over the top visually but a total beast, especially once the rebuilt engine went in. Other Z owners on here would be well familiar. This predates the LS1 so needless to say, handling wasn't it's forte... The wheels were local Neale Wheels products, 10" in the rear and 8" at front rolling 265's/245's. Quote
