DatZed Posted June 15, 2013 Posted June 15, 2013 Plenty of good engine builders around Gordo, have a look at this. http://www.performanceforums.com/forums/showthread.php?67286940-NA-M20-with-TK-goodness Quote
Moderators Zedman240® Posted June 15, 2013 Moderators Posted June 15, 2013 Many years ago I remember Steve Newing used to build good L series; he built a L28 for me with no serious mods with the ITB's and Wade 568A (74') cam that made around 154 rwKw's. Stan Holmes was another legendary builder but I haven't spoken to him in quite a few years. They are becoming a rare breed! Quote
Scoota G Posted June 15, 2013 Posted June 15, 2013 Heaps of bad engine builders around too, hence the title. The Only person i would hand my L Series onto is Pete, you can see it in his eyes how much passion he has for these brillant engines. Quote
Riceburner Posted June 15, 2013 Posted June 15, 2013 You'll love it Owen! Pete & Les are head and shoulders above the rest. Quote
ZED83 Posted June 15, 2013 Posted June 15, 2013 The best part is ill be driving it out the door I'm getting the stainless exhaust system. so Instead of doing the three hour drive up and back all the time from ballarat to Warragul. They can have the car! just drop engine and box back in then do exhaust. I just want to say i am very Impressed with pete and les's service I would recommend them to anyone in the country even in the world. There's no B,S with these guys if it don't work they'll tell you! then make it work I asked for 300+hp setup that's exactly what I got with gearbox/diff to suit! So thanks for your hard work pete/les couldn't be more happy cant wait to drive it home. Quote
Administrators gav240z Posted June 15, 2013 Administrators Posted June 15, 2013 Owen - can't wait to hear your feedback on the car after you get it back. Quote

Scoota G Posted September 11, 2013 Posted September 11, 2013 That's what i said to him Gordon, the way it sounds is less like a car and more like some futuristic weapon! The midrange torque is unreal. Quote

ZED83 Posted September 12, 2013 Posted September 12, 2013 This afternoon I made a surprise visit for a friends 12 year old sons birthday. His a big car fan, should I say "nut". His room is full of model cars/posters and and apparently he builds his own cars on line and races them for pink slips! The look on his face when I showed up was priceless, then he was to scared to get in took him for spin around the block while he film it with with one of those Go Pro cameras you race guys use. Tomorrow his going to show all his friends at his school what he got for his birthday. Hopefully I have turned him into a Datsun fan! Quote
Gordo Posted September 12, 2013 Posted September 12, 2013 Great stuff Owen. You might be able to turn this into a part time job. You know how they do the Harley rides. You could to the Datto rides! lol. Quote
ZED83 Posted September 12, 2013 Posted September 12, 2013 Could be a good idea! $10 per child $15 per parent $7 for pensioners who's wants in!!! Lol Quote
