Administrators gav240z Posted January 7, 2016 Administrators Posted January 7, 2016 Hi Guys, At some point in the cars life the floors got a little beat up, and the pedal wouldn't get full range. So someone decided to lob the bottom half of the pedal off.. Photos do the explaining . A few years back I had some rust repair work done on the floors, so now the pedal gets full range but I'm still stuck with a butchered looking pedal. I just put another rubber on it, but the bottom half of the pedal is still missing behind it. It looks like you can remove the accelerator pedal relatively easily without having to remove the entire pedal box under the dash. I'm not sure if 240z/260z is the same, but if anyone has a spare let me know? Quote

Enzo Posted January 7, 2016 Posted January 7, 2016 Why not just tidy it up with a grinder after removal and trim the rubber to match. I cut the bottom off mine because it was catching on the carpet where it bunched up and I occasionally got caught with a wide open throttle at the wrong time. Now with more clearance it's much safer. Gidday I would say that you can, I have converted from Auto to Manual (as have countless others) and it would appear that the cars are same, don't really understand why they just didn't fit every car with the auto accelerator pedal ?
