WogsRus Posted February 8, 2015 Posted February 8, 2015 Do a search for my name under introductions. My 2+2 is painted one shade off British racing green and looks very nice. Quote
Azman1984 Posted February 9, 2015 Author Posted February 9, 2015 Went down to work today and mixed a can of midnight purple to spray over some already preped panels. I must say I think I'm in love. Quote
Old Man Z Posted February 9, 2015 Posted February 9, 2015 Go the green! I purchased Rev's green Z and although was not my original choice of colour , I think it really suits the car. Its a BMW Boston green , changes in different lighting situations ,which is part of the attraction . Have , and still are , changing cosmetic aspects of the car ,but are really happy with the colour. Plus , she's pretty amazing to drive! Here (hopefully) are some pics as to how its looking, Will gav240z 1 Quote
Azman1984 Posted May 11, 2015 Author Posted May 11, 2015 Hey guys it's been awhile since I've put an update in here and sadly that's due to nothing having happened. Sadly through some unforeseen circumstances we have had to store some extra things in the garage for a family member which has eaten into all my work area and I have had to put the project on hold for a bit. I have the car to a point now where pretty much all of the hang on panels have been paint stripped and most of them put into primer or atleast in various stages of. I am itching to get my hands on the body and paint strip it so I can see exactly what I have to work with and what needs to be done. Then I can work out whether I will give the rust repairs a crack myself or if I just pay to have them done properly. I've been trying to put some thought into some of the finer details of where I would like this build to go without being able to get my hands on the car currently it is stunting the flow of ideas a little. Hopefully the next month or two will yield a change of address or the freeing up of space in the garage so I can again start work on this fine lady. Quote

Still a Z and you wouldn't be without one. Quote
Azman1984 Posted May 13, 2015 Author Posted May 13, 2015 still a Z and you wouldn't be without one. Agreed I'd rather have any Zed than no Zed Quote
Old Man Z Posted May 23, 2015 Posted May 23, 2015 Hey Gav , headlight trims , white walls and original wheels all tick the boxes for me on the 260. Had the centre caps rechromed and painted for $100 per cap ,which sounds a lot but , hey try and find nos ones ! Couple of other pics of Revs last 260 on the way to Warwick for NDN 15 . Had to do the "big"backdrop for pics! gav240z 1 Quote
Azman1984 Posted December 3, 2015 Author Posted December 3, 2015 (edited) So the old girl has finally made it into her new home after some big delays. Sadly though as more paint comes off and with a good look underneath while on the trailer the list of rust spots are mounting. As you would expect with such an old girl. I'm now left with the dilemma of what to do with her. I'm happy to spend money and know I will need to, but need to sit and have a good long think about whether I sink the money into this shell or try to find another? If I keep this shell do I keep going for my nice clean driver or do I just fibreglass the girl and have myself another fun track toy. Edited December 3, 2015 by Azman1984 Andrew_L26 1 Quote
Azman1984 Posted February 15, 2016 Author Posted February 15, 2016 Well very sadly the decision has been made that its time to move my old girl on. There is just far too much rust in her body and with only a single garage in the new house is making doing any work on the girl very hard. I will take some photos later on and put up an add and I would prefer to sell her complete as a parts car where I can, however as she is somewhat pulled apart I will look at selling of certain parts. Feel free to message e before the add goes up if you are after something in particular. Once she is sold focus will turn towards saving to buy another Zed that is more or less complete. Quote
Moderators PB260Z Posted February 16, 2016 Moderators Posted February 16, 2016 Hi, That is a tough call to make. Over the years I have seen too many people get in too deep with car projects. It is far smarter to be realistic about the situation and cut your losses - still not easy to do. Good luck with the sale. PB Quote

PB Thanks PB, It's a decision I have been paining myself with for months now and I would rather do it now before I spend any serious money on her and atleast put that money towards a better project.
