I prefer the JDM fender mirror look but I need to get through engineering and rego first so need to fit some compliant mirrors but dont want to drill holes in my doors to mount conventional mirrors.

......so has anyone seen a Z with these Rod style mirrors fitted to the door frame....http://www.ebay.com/itm/4-LONG-ARM-PEEP-MIRROR-OUTSIDE-SIDE-REAR-VIEW-DOOR-FRAME-HOT-STREET-RAT-ROD-PR-/330817568385

I actually like them and could be convinced to keep them if I can make them fit properly and if they are legal.

Thoughts....

and the convex lens would be handy

But possibly not legal for the drivers side in most state i'd guess. Japanese imports over here require the factory convex mirror to be replaced with flat mirror.

I too am thinking of peep mirrors for the same reason. Don't want to drill holes in my doors. Thinking of the bullet type mind you. Like these

Looking at mirror options too, has anyone tried these or any other thoughts?

I am used to large mirrors on late model cars and really struggle with the little ones that look great

I was looking at Raydyot mirros that attach to the stainless trim. To avoid drilling holes in my fenders or doors on my 72 240z.

I like them as they are period correct and were used on Works race cars and the Rally Cars.

Thanks Gav, do you have a photo a little further back to get a feel of the look? DO you get good rear vision?

I don't have them on my car yet. The photo js from a Shelby Cobra. The works cars had them fixed to the door. Look at some 432-rs of the period also as I've seen them used on those also. I want to replace my 200b mirrors on my red 240z with these. In black they look good also.

Well bugger, bought a set of these today and they don't fit  :o Well at least they said they would take them back if they didn't fit.
