  5. What a bunch of negative Nancy's :-)
  6. Mine is costing $1400 given that the under-seal and sound-deadening had already been removed, $2800 if it had not It is being treated with "paint grip 253" which, according to the broacher, is a "corrosion-resisting, paint-bonding coating on steel. The Paint Grip coating, when dry, protects the surface from fingerprints, rust, etc., during temporary indoor storage (usually for six months or more.)" the MCM boys used the same process for the Mira floor conversion. I started media blasting it myself but the soon realised it was going to be cheaper, easier, faster and a lot less messy to just get someone else to do it.
  7. Off to RediStrip for a decent bath. In retrospect should have done this first up :-)

  12. Just about to place an order for some Techno Toy Tuning go fast bits. Given that i am months, years, if not decades away from being in a position to install any of it I plan on using the cheapest (usually slowest) shipping method to save a bit of cash. If anyone is interested in any Techno Toy Tuning products and not fussed about delivery times let me know, if there is enough interest i will hit them up for a bulk purchase discount. Regards Gary

  14. Another quality repair The panel is seriously dented and probably stretched to hell, the swage line that runs just above the wheel arch is completely gone forward of the centre of the arch. I would like to repair rather than replace and wondering if anyone here is qualified enough to offer some advice. I think these are my options 1. Purchase a dent puller and shrinking disc and gently work it back into shape (not sure if this is possible given the condition) 2. Cut the damaged area out and repair (panel beat) and then then weld back in. 3. Cut as must of the damage area out that a rust repair section will cover and repair the rest. I am trying to metal finish all the repairs where possible, this is the only area where i have a gap in my skillset/ability but would like to learn. Thanks in advance Gary
  15. What do you have me down for?
  16. wow, chassis looks mint!
  17. about to embark on some rust repair and wondering what gauge sheet metal i should purchase, the all knowing web leads me to believe most body panels are stamped using 20 gauge. Is this correct and does any one have any words of wisdom that should be consider prior to starting?
