  4. Was lucky enough to be at the race. A proud moment singing the anthem!! And then a "shoey" to top it off.
  5. Hi, I recently bought a moulded mat from a company called VIPCO located in Castle Hill NSW. Quality was pretty good and it only cost $70. I believe they outsource them so maybe give them a call and they may be able to post / point you towards someone local.
  6. Nice pics PB, looks like a good day was had. Was a shame i couldnt make it as i was in Qatar at the motogp, luckily though I got my zed fix as there were a couple on show at the race. Unexpected, but very cool.

  8. Hi PB I will need to source a new strap. Have a small ratchet strap as a temp solution for the moment. Yesterday was a good day out with the Sydney Datsun Club on their observation run. Luckily only a slight drizzle in the morning and then it cleared for a nice day of driving. A good mix of cars on the run including a couple of Z's, Hako's, 1600's and many others. Unfortunately I was busy driving and forgot to take more pic's. Next time.....
  9. Cheers Gents. So yesterday was great. Took the zed for a decent spin out past Windsor through Galston Gorge and over to the Northern Beaches putting over 250kms on clock. Ran very nicely all day. (some air con would have been nice in the heat!! but I guess a sweaty back thanks to the vinyl seats is all part of the retro experience). Today the zed was rewarded with new oil, filter, oil pressure sender unit and spark plugs. Took it for a quick shake down and the diff mount decided to let go. The old man got me out of trouble with a bit of roadside engineering good enough to get me the couple of km's back home. Luckily I picked up a new mount from Warren a few weeks back so looks like I will be throwing it in tomorrow ready for the SDC observation cruise on Sunday. Fingers crossed no more hick-ups....
  10. I'll be at the Motogp in Qatar that weekend so wont be able to make it. I'm sure brother Shaun will be keen to take the z out for a drive though.
  11. +1 for a Sunday. I don't mind location wise. Looking forward to it. Mark
  12. Happy to say there is another Zed on Sydney's roads!!!! Big thanks to Graeme from SDC and Steve from S&D Mechanical for helping me sort out the Historic Rego. Looking forward to clocking up some km's tomorrow.
  13. Welcome. Nice ride!! More pics..........
  14. I've been buying a few of the bits Warren has been putting up on ebay and it has been delivered in a very timely manner. No complaints from me. Mark
  15. call it good timing. been looking at getting some triples for a while so these should scratch the itch.

  17. Nice work Pete. Must be a great feeling.
  18. Hi John Congrats, looks like a nice ride and a good base to start with to be able to make your own. Enjoy the Z journey. Mark
  19. Hey mate The wats will definitely be back on shortly. We originally took them off because of the leaking fluid from the rear wheel cylinders. Since replacing the seals we have been mucking around with a few other bits and pieces. Haven't put them back on because the lip on the rear wheels goes very close to scraping on the ramps we have so don't want to risk scratching them whilst we have still been working on it. In saying that the thing is pretty much now ready to go for a blue slip. I have joined the Sydney Datsun Club and am hoping to get it on historic rego under the new log book scheme. Mark
  20. I know how you feel, im in the same boat but I haven't even taken it for a long drive yet. Finish working on something, take it for a quick lap around the block to check. Job done........... then you hear / feel something else. The joys of owning an old z!!!!!
  21. Nice one PB. Seeing the pics of your bus on the road is what prompted me. Look forward to it. Mark
  22. Thanks Gav Yeah, someone (it may have be you for memory) mentioned it some time ago, I think when discussing chassis numbers and the car being bought on ebay / gumtree. That ones on the job list for the old man to look after down the track. Mark
