    3.9 diff

Is that easy? What modification are needed and are they easy and relatively cheap to get? Just been offered a r180 3.9?

    3.9 diff

Hmmm I'll put more thought into 3.7 could be best of both worlds maybe.

    3.9 diff

I think I want a 3.9 or even 4.11 cars not gonna do much highway or track days so don't mind it revving a bit. Always after advice though too. I'm a bit of a novice.

    3.9 diff

Just got my zed on the road and feeling real sluggish compared to my last one. Pretty sure I've got 3.36 ratio diff so I'm after a 3.9 if anyone has one or can point me in the right direction.
  5. I just brought some 16 x 7 superlites Is it normal to have to fit longer wheel studs? I have the tapered Allen key type wheel nuts and am only getting about 10mm thread which to me doesn't seem enough.
  6. My last zed had an L28 with mild cam and lightened flywheel with twin carbs and made 115kw at wheels and was great to drive. My new Zed has an L28 fuel injected and I think mild cam but standard flywheel and doesn't feel anywhere near as responsive so I think lightened flywheel is the way to go but what's the ideal weight?
  7. Hey mate do you still have the rear hatch with louvre and if so where abouts in Melbourne are you? Thanks Joel
  8. Thanks Dimitri for taking charge, It's a shame this turned out such a flop. I would have thought 6 weeks from the original post would have been enough time to organise something with a fair idea of some numbers. I guess as the I was the original poster of this thread I should take the blame for such a failed event, definately not Dimitri who stepped when no one else would. The next time I suggest a meet up I'll be sure to organise it from start to finish. Will be good to catch up soon.
  9. Well I'm gonna have to bail, been home all day because wife is sick so looking after kids, oh and had appendix taken out at very short notice last week so still a little tender. Sorry guys was really looking forward to catching up.
  10. So is tomorrow night actually happening? What time and who's in?
  11. Let's lock it in and confirm a venue
  12. That's actually kinda cool. I can't believe there is actually 2 for sale in Victoria at the same time!
  13. Well Friday 6/6 is the only date I can do and since I finally got my zed on the road today and I started this thread I reckon I should have the final say
  14. Glad to see I got the ball rolling I'll be away from mid June to end June so hopefully it will be either before or after that
  15. Gotta be about time for another social night? House renos just about done and ready to get back to work on the Zed but could do with some motivation.
  16. That's the one
  17. Sorry it's not a zed, but I have a datsun 1600 for sale that was advertised here a few months back. A mate of mine purchased the car and he picked it up and left at my place and he hasn't touched it since. He's lost interest and I need it gone so its for sale again. Price : $2500.00 which is what he paid for it. I don't know anything about it really. It's not running (not that anyone's tried to start it ) It has twin webber Carbies . Body rough Interior rough Not been registered in a few years Located in Monbulk Victoria , Pm me if interested. Thanks Joel
  18. Oz should get this , the guy who's building a car from a badge
  19. Thanks mate, Figured I might aswell try everything. Obviously my post got sensored as its not shiverbox rally Anyway PM me if you want more details
  20. Ok guys I'm asking for donations, A mate and I are doing the ShitBox rally in 2014. Basically we get a car for as cheap as possible, this time we got donated a Ford Falcon wagon. We drive it from Perth to Darwin with all the other shitboxers and at the end the car gets auctioned off to raise money for the cancer council. We need to raise $4000 before we start so every cent will count. To donate just google the ShitBox rally and look up our team. Team name is # YOUR MUM I hate asking for money but if you don't ask you don't get. Thanks Joel
  21. Kinda my point too Lynton, I think datsun prices are on the move up with even the 120y being advertised for around 10k. Around a year or so ago I reckon the Zeds were at a peak in the pricing. Now they seem all over the place from 3k to 90k. I would think that Auszcar would be very influential in Zed prices as surely our members own the majority of Zeds around today. So do we want to put the prices up? I think we are better off just enjoying the Zed for what it is, a great classic sportscar that you can purchase for a fair price knowing that they will not decrease in value. A car that was instantly a hit world wide from its release and probably caused the demise of a couple of British sportscars. Just enjoy the drive
  22. At the end of the day you will only ever get what someone is willing to pay for your car and if your asking a high price your obviously not that desperate for the money. I've got a car for sale at the moment that I didn't want to sell but the orders were given so it was listed at a high price. Now I want to sell it so its been dropped by 25%. I think the price of zeds will increase but it will only happen when the Zed owners decide it will.
  23. I agree Gav I reckon the prices of old Holden's and fords are crazy these days. I'd prefer the car that was always meant to be a sportscar rather than one that was based on a mid size family car. I'm not being zed biased and love all older cars . I just think the zeds are a hell of alot more value for money. Lets not just compare the xu-1 though. Anyone seen the asking prices on datto 1600 and 1200 utes these days? I don't really understand what's held the Zed back? I've owned a lot of cars and can honestly say there's not much I'd rather have in shed than a Zed for under $100k (Though maybe ask me again if I ever have $100k to blow on a toy )
  24. Thanks guys , just dropped mine off at local mechanic so hopefully he can sort them otherwise I'll be in touch Scoota
  25. Ok so things are going pretty good so far. I reckon I got an awesome deal from Johnboy on a set of wheels and Tyres ( enjoy those beers mate ) Now I'm chasing a pair of good front calipers I've got into it tonight and they don't look good. I know they can be serviced but I'd rather get someone who knows a bit more to do that. So if someone's got some good ones they can sell me to keep me on a roll with progress that would be great. I've also decided to do the bit of bodywork myself for now just so I can get it registered and then I'll get Lurch to do his magic later. I reckon I'll take photos of all the areas I repair just in case I surprise myself and do a great job and can't find them later I've also decided to paint the seats too as there in really good condition but just the wrong colour. Results seem pretty good with the vinyl spray and worse case scenario they can be retrimmed later
