Hey all. I have a genuine, certified, bonafied, 1 of a kind, authentic Nissan 200Zr sump with pickup. Rarer than a sober scotish hens dentist. No more assumptions, be sumptuous, Your oil consumption worry is a thing of the past. $350 Also have a 1.5L surge tank made to mount behind the diff of any s30. Comes with bosch pump. Its pretty cool too. $200

-

Ok sorry for a silly question, Once you've done this, you use the L series flywheel and clutch? Not the SR or Rb clutch/flywheel

What Is Your Favorite Memory In Your Z?
twoforty z replied to gav240z's topic in General Discussions
My favorite memory is similar to CroS13's (though I got home with both my mirrors) I had always loved Zed's and my first car was a 1976 260z 2+2 which i loved and had some great times in. I had always wanted a 240z and one day I came across a very nice looking 240z on carsales. Only problem was it was in Melbourne and I live in Adelaide. I rang the owner and after a lengthy chat agreed to put down a deposit and fly over and have a look at the car. At this stage I had a Plan A which was to buy the car and drive back but no plan B if I decided not to buy it once inspected. I organised a movement registration as it wasnt registered (cementing the lack of need for Plan B) and bought some plane tickets. I arrived and after about 1hr of inspecting I had bought the car and was on my way home. 100m down the street a young kid yelled from the side of the road "I like you car mate!" and i knew id made the right decision. The L24 had a draw threw carbie turbo setup which was very fussy, too much acceleration before boost and it would back fire from both ends and scare the crap out of anybody within 50m, including myself. The shocks were gone so the ride was pretty rough and every time I changed down gears it made a noise like shaking a glass jar of bolts but I was flying along none the less. Literally flying as I hadn't realized it was in MPH and was doing 90-100mph. Getting petrol (which was frequent) required negotiating every time as I had no plates, until I was in the country then nobody seemed to care. Roughly 8hrs later I arrived back in Adelaide with the sorest face as I had spent the whole time grinning. -

This is my inspiration. 918 orange, work equip 01's, lowered and 432r style exhaust. No flares or wings, just a small front lip. Mint -
I have HS30-00595 (4/1971) here in SA Bought from Vic Originally 918 orange but was resprayed black before i bought it, one day will be 918 orange again. Original L24 was draw through carbie turbo, was a pig to drive. Replaced with an RB20det Has MK63 front brakes, fibre glass guards and bonnet, roll bar and R200 lsd, tokico shocks and springs, FMIC and a few other bits and pieces

as a Joiner I appreciate timber anywhere...I've really had to restrain myself from turning the interior of my 240z into looking like a log cabin

R200 diff install, tail shaft length
twoforty z replied to twoforty z's topic in Brakes / Drivetrain Components
Yeah thats what i had assumed, guess impatient me was hoping otherwise. Also is it possible to change over the diff strap brackets to the later 260z items so the strap lines up? Thanks guys -
Hi all, I'm installing an R200 LSD into my April 1971 240z with an RB20det and R32 gearbox. I've got all the pieces I need: 260z diff crossmember and new mount, half shafts, stub axles, curved rear transverse link, 260z companion flange etc. Last piece of the puzzle is my tail shaft, which was custom made when the RB20 was installed. How do I measure how long it needs to be? and can I work it out now before the diff is in or just play it safe and measure it up once the diff is installed?

Cool thanks guys. Good to know my seat belts aren't standard. Id say they would've been installed with the roll bar which was done by the previous owner. Given I have to have my car engineered for the Rb20det i think ill talk to them about having the roll bar and current seat belt setup engineered too if it needs it. If that doesnt work ill order some new ones. Thanks again

Hi all, I have a 1971 240z that im trying to clear a defect on. It currently has a roll bar that im going to remove prior to its inspection, problem is my seat belt "loop" is mounted to it and im struggling to work out of any part of my seat belts are standard. It has the inertia reel mounted behind the seats but they look low and if i mount the loop back in its original position above the window it looks like they will rub. Also not sure what bolt size to use to mount them back in their original position above the window. Its one of the last things i need to fix to get this old girl back on the road so any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Hey all, I have an R200 diff from a HR31 im fitting to my 240z but need the yoke (companion flange) to bolt it up to my tailshaft. Anybody have one they dont need? Can you let me know the bolt spacing if you do Thanks

hey guys, I have been working on the Datto recently but work has stalled while I wait for parts etc so I've been thinking about ways of blinging up the engine bay a bit. I have a RB20det silver top that I want to appear "old school" and I thought the best way to do that was chrome bits and pieces. So Im going to polish the rocker covers, install a polished radiator overflow and a polished oil catch can. Has anybody found an aftermarket window washer bottle? all the ones i can find dont look like they would fit. Any other ideas on things I can do do bling up my engine bay? feel free to post up pictures of your own engine bay!

Cool thanks Gav240z well that solves that problem. Now I just have to convince them they came with Rb20det's and roll bars as standard and ill be sweet ????
