  1. Hey all. Im slowly working on getting my 240z undefected and one of tthe things i require is hazard lights...problem is my car never had the switch, my dash just has 2 empty holes. So if anybody has a hazard light switch and the plugs attached and the switch that goes in the hole above can you let me know? Cheers
  2. may be wrong but I thought the use of spacers was illegal? says the guy with a defected 240z
  3. Sorry, got confused after he asked for a Clutch master and clutch slave

  7. Should be a good day, cant wait to see a few nice Datsuns
  8. Hi, Putting a R200 diff in my 240z so i need some 260z half shafts with stub flanges and a mustache bar.
  9. Well given both diffs are hard to find, i decided to buy which ever one I found first. So I just bought a R200 2 way LSD 4.375 from a Dr30 for $900 Now to find the required 260z parts ☺
  10. So.... The R180 is easier to find, but its weaker The R200 is harder to find, but stronger. Both can be found with the right ratio (around 4.4) and both are "roughly" the same price to install. "Legally" I'm not allowed to make any performance mods to my Rb20 so it will probably never have more than 200rwkw (which for a 980kg car is plenty in my opinion) so I'm thinking of going down the R180 Subaru path
  11. so what would you think I should expect to pay for a DR30 R200? they seem to vary in price a bit
  12. Hi all, Before you say it, I've read almost every diff related post I could find but I'm still scratching my head. I have a 240z with an RB20DET (basically stock, 150kw atw) and RB gearbox and I'm not sure what diff ratio I currently have but 2nd gear just keeps going, and going. No joke I can pull away from a standing start in 2nd and get to about 110km/h. Great party trick but not overly practical. So I want to change my diff so I'll have more acceleration and a LSD. The car is mainly street driven but I would like to do a few track days and 1/4 mile passes in the future. I've budgeted around $1500-2000 and was thinking the "easiest" option would be the 4.44 ratio (I believe the R32 came with a 4.363 ratio) LSD R180 from the GC8 Subaru STi with side axles from Wolf Creek Racing. So.....have I budgeted enough? Should I stick with R180's or go R200 diffs? is 4.44 the right ratio for me? Does it matter what sort of LSD it is as its a street car? why do some people say the R180 Subaru swap isn't so easy? Thanks
  13. im super interested in the R200 Lsd 4.375 ratio Just need the sale of my ute to go through and ill be in touch
  14. This 240z is only 1 serial number different to mine. Same console, same badges, even the same color (before mine was sprayed). Mine also came from Vic Mine is HS30-00595
  15. Hi guys, I'm relatively new to Auszcar but have been around the Z car scene here in SA for a while. Thought I'd officially introduce myself and my Zed. I'm a joiner specializing in timber staircases (actually did the staircase for another AusZcar member without even realizing, that's Adelaide for you) and I've owned my 240z since 04/2007. I've always loved Z's, my first car was a 260z 2+2, and when I had the opportunity to buy a 240z I couldn't resist. So here is a bit about my car. 1971 240z #595 Silver top RB20Det 149kw atw R32 5sp manual Xtreme HD organic clutch Custom front mount Polyurethane bushes Tokico HP blue shocks and Tokico springs Sumitomo MK63 calipers DBA slotted discs Fiberglass bonnet w/ 260z flutes Fiberglass front guards and lip Roll bar In 2011 the car was defected due to the RB20 not being engineered and sadly due to other commitments i haven't had the time to sort it out. Hopefully this year i will get it back on the road and then further down the track I plan a full respray.
