My racing number is 37, a pit tent is paid for so anyone from the Z club Q is welcome to use it. I'd appreciate someone picking up my paid for stuff too, stick on's, shirt and so on. If no one from Q wants the tent then anyone else is welcome to use it. Let me know so I can advise the promoters. Hi Richard, Sorry to hear about your bad luck, hope it is not as bad as suspected, maybe going for a 13B rotary may be a good option I would be very happy to use your pit tent if okay? My race number is 54 and I will be happy to collect your paid for stuff such as "Stick on's, shirt and so on. That is if I make the event myself, having all sorts of problems with the transport of my car. The firm I had to do the job has withdrawn and I have been madly ringing round to try and get another transporter. Some of the quotes are unbelievable such as $800.00 to Bathurst then $1800.00 back to Brisbane, going north must use more fuel? I don't understand. My last resort is to drive the Mazda down and back myself, but not keen on that option, too great a risk of damage. Sorry again to hear about your bad luck! Regards Peter

Not sure if you would be interested in watching any of my in car videos. Took some at my last event (Super Sprint) at Morgan Park, Warwick and it looks like I am going on a sedate Sunday drive, but I was trying my heart out. Very boring and quite embarrassing. Richard, you are a nasty man, picking on my car :'( Cheers Peter

Hi Roger, Hope to catch up if I get the chance, just hope the weather stays fine, I am hopeless in the wet. Cheers Peter

Hi Dave, Hope you can make it, would be good to catch up, sorry I haven't got around to answering your previous email, just been very slack. One good thing about going around the mountain this time is that I won't have you in front of me chucking your muffler at me. There are 5 members from the QLD Z Car Club entered in this event and we are all in the same group with me bring up the rear. Prefer it that way, stay out of trouble and let all the "Speed Racers" bang and crash into each other. Cheers Peter

Well it is just over 3 weeks away now until I will be competing in the Modern Regularity Event running around the famous Mount Panorama Circuit in my lovely RX5. I am in the regularity event (group 1) organised by the New South Wales Road Racing Club, and hopefully having five 20 minute sessions around the mountain, with practice on the Friday then two sessions on both the Saturday and Sunday. If I can achieve a constant lap time of around the 3 minute 15 second mark I will be very pleased. This will be far better then my last attempt but I have made a few changes to the car since then, like replacing the 3 speed auto with a manual 5 speed box with the 121 ratios set, but the main thing I will need is bigger balls on the driver. If you are at the event over the Easter Weekend please drop over and say hello! Cheers Peter

Some very good photos of this event can be found on this Facebook page:- https://www.facebook.com/driftgarageoz There is a lovely one of my RX5. Cheers Peter

I plan to be there but not in a Z, will I still be allowed to park with you guys? Cheers Peter

SOLD - FS 5x Performance Superlite wheels in 15x7 12p Adelaide
peterrx5 replied to RLY240's topic in Parts and Tools for Sale
Hi Roger, Thanks for the message, they look excellent and just what I have been looking for, my car has a PCD of 4x120 so it is almost impossible to get aftermarket wheels to fit. I am very tempted, but I received an offer of the same wheels ( 4 of ) here in Brisbane, which I am still considering. If you don't have any other takers please keep me in mind. Thanks Again, Greatly appreciated. Cheers Peter -
I am after a set (4) of rims 15 x 7 with a PCD of 4 x 114.3 and a backspace of 110mm or less. They are for my car which requires a PCD of 4 x120 which is close to impossible to find, so I will need to have the rims redrilled. I already have a set of 15 x 6.5 which I have had redrilled, but they require spaces because of the incorrect offset/backspace which is a real pain. I live on the south side of Brisbane and am willing to do a local pickup or pay the courier cost if required. Hope someone can help me out with this requirement. Cheers Peter

Hi Roger, I don't think it is a FOSC event at Bathurst over Easter in 2014, several members of the ZCCQ have entered for this event through the NSW Road Racing Club and I am one of the hopefuls. I am stuck with a 3.6 diff in my car so the climb up through the cutting is very interesting, should be better this time then at my last visit when I was running a 3 speed auto as I now have a manual box fitted. Check out this video taken at this event in 2013, you will see that the driver actually selects first gear to pull up out of the cutting, and he averages lap times just on or under the 3 minutes. May see you there. Cheers Peter

This is an event that I would love to have a crack at, but not sure about the requirements such as car configuration (Cage etc.) and driver experience and licence level/requirements. May I take this opportunity to wish everyone a Very Merry Christmas and a Safe and Happy New Year. Cheers Peter ALL NEW QR 300 ENDURO AT QUEENSLAND RACEWAY FOR THE FESTIVAL OF CARS Queensland Raceways has announced the introduction of the all new QR 300 Enduro Race as part of the Festival of Cars at Queensland Raceway, 3rd-4th May 2014. The new race format is based on the highly successful Wakefield 300 event held annually at Wakefield Park Raceway, and will see competitors complete 96 laps around the National Circuit for a total race distance of 300km. The QR 300 will be open to all Sports Cars and Sedans, including (but not limited to) Improved Production, Sports Sedans, HQ's, Geminis and Excels. The minimum lap time around the National Circuit will be 1 minute and 22 seconds. Each vehicle entering the QR 300 must be driven by a minimum of two drivers with a maximum of three drivers for the event. Queensland Raceways General Manager, Keith Lewis, said that the event will hopefully draw a wide range of cars and competitors to the circuit; including interstate drivers who currently compete in the Wakefield 300. "The success of the event at Wakefield shows that there is definitely a large market for this type of race meeting. The plan is to run the event in 2014 to gauge the interest in a 300km enduro at Queensland Raceway, with the aim of running an 'East Coast Challenge' series with three events across three different circuits in 2015." Supplementary Regulations and further details for the new event will be finalised over the coming weeks and released early in the New Year. For more information please email events@qldraceways.com.au.

Well so far it looks like there will be 5 Z Car Club of QLD members participating in the Regularity Events at the Bathurst Motor Festival 2014, not a bad roll up for our club. Cheers Peter

Will do Richard. I just need to make sure that the car radio is turned off this time, don't want to be distracted by another recipe this time whilst going over the top of the mountain.

I have sent in my application to participate in the Modern Regularity Event at the 2014 Bathurst Motor Festival.
-
Gary Neut who is a member of the QLD Z Club and has applied to participate drives a Series 6 Mazda RX7, go the rotaries.
-
I have been sending out information on this to Z Car Club members on a regular basis. This is the latest information I have received from the organisers. As far as I know the only club member who has applied so far is Gary Neut. Attached is the Invitation but I can't attach the application forms because of the file extension, if you require these forms send me an email and I will forward them onto you. petermh@optusnet.com.au This is the information regards permissible lap times:- The minimum Lap Time (quickest) permitted on the circuit for Modern Regularity is 2 minutes 40 seconds. This is fairly quick. The limit is there for safety reasons given that most cars won’t have rollover protection and/or harness belts and most drivers will NOT be experienced race drivers. For safety reasons, CAMS guidelines stipulate that the slowest car should be no more than 130% of the fastest nominated time. Therefore, if your lap time is likely to be greater than 3 minutes 28 seconds, we suggest you don’t apply. As a guide, in the past 3 years of running Regularity at Bathurst over Easter all participants have qualified in reasonably standard road cars. Regards Peter Hi, We recently sent you an email in regard to next year's event. Thank you to those of you that were in a position to past it on to your Club members, clients, friends, etc, the response has been fantastic. We write to let you know that we have already received enough complying Expressions of Interest to fill our usual field of 55 cars for Easter 2014 and that a reserve list has commenced. As a result of the subscriptions received to date and with a week and a half to go till the closing date of 9th August 2013, we are pleased to advise that we have secured the rights to a second group, subject to providing a minimum number of required entries by that date. This means you have a second chance to get in if you wish to run in 2014. If you wish to run we suggest you submit your Expression of Interest and pay your fee ASAP and recommend that you encourage others to do the same in order for us to meet the required field size by 9th August, 2013. We are also promoting this second group to a wider audience than usual in an attempt to fill it, that way more competitors get the chance to run at Mt Panorama in 2014. We look forward to receiving your Expression of Interest and asks those that are in a position to do so, please pass this email on anyone you feel may be interested and suitable. Apologies to anyone receiving this email, that has already confirmed they can't make it or as already entered for 2014. The latter will have received a confirmation of their Expression of Interest having been received. Regards, Steven & Brony Ripplestrip Motorsport 36816_5d497dccd0c8ada53c41ab8b58a18145e0f68266.pdf

I had a terrible weekend up at Warwick for the HRCC Historic 2013. Only did a practice session including a big lose, then one session, breaking the gearbox on the last lap. That was it, all over. Cheers Peter

This is the entry list for the HRCC Historic 2013 event at Morgan Park over the weekend of the 13/14 July http://www.hrcc.org.au/pdf/2013HQ%20Entry%20List%20V2.pdf Cheers Peter

I usually go but with the other Mazda owners from the Seven of Clubs, but I won't this year because I will be up at Warwick competing in the HRCC Historic Event. Why not come up to Warwick on the Saturday and get a feast for your eyes and ears, then go to the Motorfest in Brisbane on the Sunday and get a feast for your eyes. Cheers Peter

Thanks for the offer Jason but being a pensioner now I would have problems raising enough money just for the radiator, and if I did mention it to the Controller of Finances the only thing that would be purchased would be my coffin. Looks like the Norwell Circuit is a no go now because of tighter noise restrictions. Cheers Peter

The Skyline club will be doing an 'evening with' and display too. In my humble opinion this is the sort of event that the ZCCQ should be getting behind, if only to support the Skyline boys who then may feel more inclined to support our club's events. I have already distributed the Skyline Club's invitation to this event to all the Z Car Club members, but it is up to each individual member if he/she wishers to attend. Also regards the Lakeside Classic it is unfortunate but this is also the weekend that the next session of the Super Sprint "A" series at Morgan Park is scheduled, and I for one don't intend to miss this after such a long gap since the last session. My car is getting very disillusioned and has gone into deep depression. Regards Peter

HRCC have finally closed their entry list ( over 200 participants ) for the Historics scheduled for the weekend of the 13/14 July and it appears that my application has been accepted. So if you are looking for something to do over that weekend why not drive up to Warwick and say hello, I would welcome some support. 36296_4eec0fae9344f2e4e812455f194f3e5c05100a86.doc
