  1. Unfortunately the Z Car Team 2 has lost one of it's team members :'( and is now back to a 4 driver team, but I have put the feelers out for a 5th team member. Had a few inquiries but no takers as yet, so if you are interested, have a suitable car, CAMS L2S licence or above, the entry fee of $350.00, a few free days around the 4th and 5th August please contact me via email petermh@optusnet.com.au, mobile 0435871060 or Home (07) 37004614. First in will be First accepted, and NO I don't drive a Nissan/Datsun. Cheers Peter
  2. With 10 laps for practice and 8 laps per session (3 sessions allocated for each group on the day) and because group 4 had a restart because of an engine blowup by the Escort on lap 6 of session 2 we actually got to have 40 + laps for the day at a cost of $140.00, excellent value.
  3. Yes it was to be a team event but as JK stated QR really stuffed up regards allocation of car numbers so it resulted in Dusty and Cam having to put out and this really stuffed up any hope we had as teams. But it was a good learning experience for me regards Regularity. I nominated a time that I believed that my car could do and it could but I constantly got stuck behind a Mustang that had set a much lower time and he blocked on the corners and just overpowered me on the straights. This happened in two of the sessions and at the last I just lost concentration and my times suffered, just about hit a fat arsed Porsche up the arse when he passed me at the Bus stop then he braked hard going under the bridge which I wasn't expecting, had to brake hard and swing to the left. But overall it was a great day and I must express a special "thank you" to that Escort in the picture above, he blew his engine going under the bridge and dropped oil all the way to Hungry, this was on about lap six so our group had a restart and they gave us another 8 laps. So we really had 4 sessions and not 3 like the other 2 groups. The thing I learnt about Regularity was to set a time below what the car is capable of, plus with mine because of the lack of torque and overtaking grunt I have to add more time for the times I get behind a car that makes it difficult for me to overtake. Regards team results if I remember correctly all our teams came in around 16th or so, at least we weren't last. Thanks to everyone who came along and offered their support. I had a great day and at the finish of the last session I was totally exhausted. Cheers Peter
  4. This is a list of teams entered in the MacLean's Bridge Event and their Pit Bay Allocations
  5. The event is being organised by the MacLean's Bridge Group and there are three teams from the Z Car Club competing in this event. http://www.macleansbridge.com/index.php/pacemaster This is on the Saturday and there is practice first then each competitor should get 3 sessions of 8 Laps, there will be 24 teams each of 4 cars at the event. Cheers Peter
  6. Whilst my car is not a "Z" I was there as a representative of the Z Car Club so I thought I would post up this photo of my car. This photo was taken by the photographer from the Warwick Daily News and was published in their Monday edition. Please note that this photo is copyrighted to the Warwick Daily News. Coming down the front straight with my right foot flat to the floor, still didn't get under the one minute lap time but came very close. Cheers Peter
  7. Also wearing those pink hotpants I surpose
  8. Should I bring my vehicle "from the dark side" along? Peter
  9. Hi Gents, I feel like a bit of an intruder here but would like to add my thoughts on this discussion. I totally agree with Dave1600 comments, just ask someone who spun out on the introduction lap going into the dipper and also broke his driver's seat in doing so. My car is not up to the requirements to compete in anything like full out racing and I don't have the desire or funds to take it to that level. A point that I think has been missed regards Morgan Park Raceway is regards track layout, and this is that the track you run on is changed for each event, plus they have just completed a major track extension, which is very fast and challanging for my old girl as I am holding on and praying that she will stop at the end of the new extended back straight. Regards other tracks, I have run at Mount Panorama, Eastern Creek, Morgan Park, Lakeside and a short run at Qld Raceway (which I found totally boring). All the other tracks have been a great experience, Mount Panorama totally scary but extremely exciting, Eastern Creek which I enjoyed most of all, possibly because it seemed to suit my car plus I set a time which I hoped to achieved and actually did, Morgan Park also a favourite of mine because of the changing track layouts and also because of all the great people I have met whilst competing there, Lakeside still trying to come to grips with this circuit and because of very limited funds I really can't risk having an off. The next big challange I have coming up is possibly a run at the "Victorian 6 Hour Regulation Relay" in August 2012. The Z Car Club has 2 teams formed and ready to compete if our applications are accepted by the event organisers, here's hopeing. Cheers Peter
