  1. I am after a set of 4 Street Legal Track tyres size 225/45/16. Prefer a set that still has a reasonable track life left and hasn't done to many heat cycles. I have priced a set of new tyres from various suppliers but they are way out of my budget. So if anyone has a set just lying around that they have no further use for contact me via this forum or email petermh@optusnet.com.au. Cheers Peter
  2. Received the information regards the Morgan Park Super Sprint Series 2015. The date are "A" Series, 21/22 February, 16/17 May, 20/21 June and 29/30 August. "B" Series 28/29 March, 30/31 May, 25/26 July and 19/20 September. Cost are:- Series registration fee $220.00 per competitor, then there is the entry fee per round of $70.00, transponder hire $15.00 and carport (if required) usually $70.00. I may try and buy my RX5 back because I realise that I now have to enter the " Sports Cars over 3000cc" group, there are heavy duty cars and drivers in this group. Stay safe over this silly season and I hope to see some of you in the New Year. Cheers Peter
  3. Any time, only suspended whilst the AGM is in progress.
  4. Also I forgot to add that there will be an informal "Car Boot Sale" so it could be the chance to get that part you have been searching for, plus a few other items as well. Cheers Peter
  5. This is a great opportunity for all the current club members to come along to meet and chat with like minded Nissan/Datsun enthusiasts in a relaxed party like environment. It is also a great opportunity for all those non club members out there to come along meet with club members and judge if the club is for you. Mark this in your social calendar it may well turn out to be the most rewarding social event you have ever attended. See you there. Remember Sunday the 30th November starting at 10:30am, don't be late. Cheers Peter
  6. Thanks Peter!
  7. What a great day at Lakeside Raceway for the Z Car Club's 30th Anniversary Super Sprint event. Whilst my times are nothing to write home to Mum about, I had buckets of fun, and got more relaxed and gained confidence in my beautiful series 5 RX7's power and handling. Never driven a Turbo powered car before and certainly never on a race track so it took quite some getting used to. The rear end drift through the "Karrussell" and major tyre squeal at the top of the "Eastern Loop" sure got the heart rate up. Will have to look at replacing the old and hard street tyres currently fitted. Off to do a track driver training day up at Morgan Park Raceway Warwick on Saturday the 6th December, which is organised by CAMS. To the Z Car Club of Q. Thanks for a Great Day Cheers Peter
  8. I do not get involved in this petty points scoring that goes on in forums. As far as events organised by the Z Car Club of Q, there is a very small group of people, I will repeat that "a very small group of people" who give up their time (and at times this can be extensive) to put in the huge amount of effort required to "try" and organise social and motor sport events that will be attractive to the club's membership. But at times the interest isn't there, despite the best intentions of those trying to put together such events that will be attended by club members. Therefore if you really want to know the truth about what the Z Car Club is doing with regards to events please give me a call (mobile 0435871060) and I will tell you the truth. Also the AGM is scheduled for the end of this month so come along, join the club and nominate for one of the Committee Positions, I for one would be more then happy to have someone else take on the role of Vice President. Regards Peter Hetherington Vice President Z Car Club of Q
  9. Come on all you Z owners, come along and support this event, still need numbers for the Happy Laps to go ahead. I will be running in the sprint event to support the Z Car Club of Q and I don't even own a Z. There has been a lot of time and effort put into organizing this event by several people so please support these people and the club by entering some of the events, but if you can't please come along on the day and show your support. Cheers Peter
  10. I managed to do 4 runs in the chook cooker, totally different experience from any other track event I have tried. Biggest problem on the day was the heat and sitting in the car for long periods of time waiting for a run on the track, I just cooked. The car went well and never felt unstable at anytime, just kept getting the ABS warning light coming on, which was a bit unsettling. Would I try it again? Maybe but only in cooler weather and with more cabin experience in the RX7. Need to lower the driver's seat because my head in the helmet was jammed hard up against the top of the hood, ended up with a very stiff neck. Cheers Peter
  11. This is a copy of an Email I received from the NSW Road Racing Club on the 7/7/2014. Cheers from one of the weird and wonderfully bizarre "once a year wannabes" that pop up,,, 'cos Bathurst! Peter Hi, On behalf of New South Wales Road Racing Club and Bronwyn and Steven at Ripplestrip Motorsport, it is with much regret that we write to inform you that the Bathurst Motor Festival Promoter will not be conducting a regularity for our category at next year's Bathurst Motor Festival in 2015. We have provided a category (last year two) at this event since its inception. During this time period we have given over 170 competitors the opportunity to experience the iconic circuit, for the most part, whilst only holding a CAMS L2S Licence. We have enjoyed running the events, have lots of fond memories and are grateful for the many life long friends and Club members we now have as a result of BMF. To those that have supported the Club with their participation, we thank you and to those who emailed us in more recent times envisaging participation in 2015, we are sorry. The Bathurst Motor Festival has gone from strength to strength each year and as such more and more "race" categories desire to be there, hence NSWRRC has been advised that a time slot is not available for our Regularity in the Easter 2015 program. As some of you will know, in 2015 NSWRRC will conduct a "race" category for combined sedans. The latter was formulated some months ago following discussions with the promoter of BMF. It was in no way envisaged as a substitute for Regularity by the Club at the time of our discussions. Participation in this event requires a full NC or CC CAMS licence and a Category 3D CAMS logbooked car. If you think you can comply and wish to run, email us at bathurstcombinedsedans2015@hotmail.com for more info, as we have a few spots left. We are currently working to secure a future event at Bathurst for L2S Competitors and Regularity for Bathurst Motor Festival 2016. We will keep you informed of our progress. Regards Steven & Bronwyn Ripplestrip Motorsport
  12. Hi Jason, Yes I have purchased a new vehicle but what make and model I am keeping a secret until the Lofty Run on the 13th of this month. Just have a problem at the moment getting it out of my yard because of a very low front spoiler, nearly removed it getting up my drive, so the car is stuck until I do some very cheap and nasty civil engineering. Cheers Peter
  13. Hi James, I see that you are travelling back to Sydney with an empty trailer the weekend of the 13-14/9. I know that you stated that it can only take a 240 or 260Z coupe, but I have a 1976 Mazda RX5 (plus lots of spare parts if possible) that needs to go to Sydney and I am sure that the Sydney buyer would be willing to pay your cost if the Mazda fitted your trailer and you had no other takers. Please get back to me if you are interested. I can be contacted via petermh@optusnet.com.au or 0435871060. Cheers Peter
  14. Good luck, just hope that the weather doesn't turn to shit like it did in 2012 and you end up spend most of your track time behind the Safety Car. Cheers Peter
  15. Totally agree, would have preferred to have seen much more of the rebuild and a lot less of the dribble. If they do a mustang that is when I turn it off for good. How many mustang or GT Falcon rebuilds can you be forced to watch in your lifetime? Cheers Peter
  16. Great to hear Moffat say how good the Mazda was, usually all you hear about is the so called "Muscle Cars" Good old CAMS killed off group "C" so the Mazda was no more, you can't have competition. Cheers Peter
  17. Hi All Here is the link to the You Tube video of the Bathurst Regularity. Members of the Z Car Club of QLD appear at 9:22 (#4) at 12:00 (#40) and me at 12:33 (#54) Enjoy your viewing. Regards Peter
  18. I have booked in for the Street Class, may even get a chance to pass someone Anyone else entered? Cheers Peter
  19. Give Paul from TimeAttack a call on 0411127374 and he should be able to answer your questions. I hope to enter the Street Car class, just have to organise the budget. Cheers Peter

  21. I was thinking of doing the Jap Nats in my Rice Burner but having trouble get information for the Track Attack website. How many sessions do they usually get and on which track? I take it that a HANS device is not a requirement. Cheers Peter
  22. Hi Roger, I was going to come over and say Hello but you looked very busy so I left you in peace. Well done to both you and your wife, amazed how she dealt with the fast traffic, I found that they always caught me at the worst possible spot on the circuit. Cheers Peter
  23. This is a video of my 3rd session around the mountain, also recorded my best time, not record breaking but a great improvement for me. The 4th session was red flagged after a few laps because of a crash up on the skyline. Cheers Peter
  24. Hi David, Sorry we didn't catch-up, our Group was very lucky because we were first up each day and first after the lunch break, so our events started on time and usually ran for fully time except for a few Safety Car incidents. Cheers Peter
  25. There were four QLD boys going over the mountain. As well as David and Brad there was Gary Neut and me. Whilst my times weren't anything to write home about I was ringing the poor old Mazda's neck and managed to lower my previous times on this track by around 20 seconds. Problem was I usually only got about 2 unmolested laps before being swamped by the faster cars and any thoughts of good laps times were gone. Because there were 55 cars and it was a rolling start, by the time I got to the start line the cars at the front would have been somewhere up on skyline. But what a great weekend, met heaps of great people, my car ran faultlessly, suffered no damage. The gent in the gazebo next to me took out first place in our Group, he was driving a very modified WRX. Now getting ready for the long trek home. Cheers Peter
