    Replacement bolts

http://www.parts4cars.com.au/ These guys have good priced nuts and bolts
  2. Thats pretty poor form by the engine builder to not check the gasket size. That could have produced some serious pre ignition
  3. Its not all about the plugs potentially popping out. 40 years of running on a road engine builds up a lot of gunk in those oil galleries The tapered plugs are designed to plug the holes after extensive cleaning in the hot tank and with nylon brushes
  4. Good Pads that fit the Hilux/landcruiser calipers are from a non brembo, subaru wrx
  5. Sorta looks like a datsun cherry rear end combined with a zed
  6. I think it was a few hundred for shot peening and finishing. Was packaged up in the total diff build so don't know exact numbers. Not really sure if it is a permanent finish. I would think so if it is not on a wearing surface
  7. I sent my brand new r180 5.1 R&P to be Isotropic Finished at neat gearboxes in SA. Haven't used the diff yet so cant comment on strength. Supposed to reduce oil temps as well

    High Revs

Sounds like your clutch is slipping. You might need to adjust the rod on the clutch slave cylinder
  9. I have a 2nd gear roll pin shear on the selector fork on second gear a few months ago (71b) . Would go into 2nd sometimes and not others. Might be something to check if you have the box apart
  10. See this thread for info on thats under that cover http://www.fullboost.com.au/forum/showthread.php?3714-Project-510-1972-Datsun-1600-SR20DET-Conversion-Under-Construction
  11. kind of looks like you can take of the pinion flange and then unbolt the sensor. Maybe have a look whats underneath?
  12. Awesome ledge! Those little slides test the reaction speed! How do you find the gearbox now you have had a few events? I have been tempted to get one for my 1600? Do you think the quality is there? The price is pretty good compared with the other boxes around

    Option gearboxes

Wish i could find a option 3 for my 1600. Hard to get a box with a 1:1 1st gear for a high rpm 4 cylinder
  14. Looks Awesome Ledge! One of my all time favourite zeds
  15. I know on a 1600/180b trailing arms which is nearly identical to a 240z/260z there is a letter A, B or C stamped on the top on the bearing housing. This corresponds to a A, B or C on the spacer. Different letters are not interchangeable. Some spacers are larger to adjust the crush on the bearings. It may be the same on the Z rear hubs. I think it talks about it in the manual
  16. Sound good for the welding rod. I hear quite a lot people welding with 4130 rods and not stress relieving/normalizing. ER70 s2 or erw80 s2 are the rod of choice without heat treatment. On a side note i hope your not using 4.6 grade bolts anywhere. 4.6 grade are garden grade bolts.
  17. What filler rod have you chosen to weld these together? Are they to be stress relieved after welding?
  18. I have one of those attachments. They work well but you do need a fairly high pressure unit. around 3000 psi I just use ordinary builders sand that i sieve with a wooden frame with a piece of flywire attached. You need to make sure the sand is fully dry or it can clog the nozzle
  19. This is a very good deal. The best bolt on HP you could get One area of a l series you need to spend a little money
  20. Is it possible to get the open and closed lengths and maybe some photos of the upper and lower attachment. Hopefully i can make it fit a 1600 rear end
  21. The engine will be run in WA It is for improved production under 2 litre
  22. I suggest anyone considering a Les/Peter engine, go for it!! You wont be disappointed!
  23. Try Swag-lock of Gyro-Lock fittings their swage fitting thread should be the same Im pretty sure both are made in the USA
  24. 240z underbody surge tank. Mounts under the rear floor in front of the diff $100 Was made for my brothers zed a few years ago
  25. Kameari sell the 4.8 and 5.1 Very expensive though http://kameariusa.com/L6_r200.php Also SW motorsport in australia sells brand new 4.6:1 i think Send them an email http://www.swmotorsport.com.au/index.php
