  1. Good gearbox transporting tip: Ged a 'homebrand' or 'savings' brand of cling wrap, and mummify it. Add a few layers of newspaper if needed. It will be 100% sealed, can be stored for ages, no leakages, no water gets in, no black fuzzy wuzzzy spiders. Also your hands can stay clean whilst picking it up & moving it etc, wont stain carpet in the car etc....
  2. If you can find DR30 Skyline Ironmask Headlights and hotplate tail lights can you let me know?
  3. ecu with afm, loom, resistor, dizzy etc just remember you have these parts set aside for me still! (MAG86)
  4. I'll take the center caps. Can you send details to my spam email address: habib_tupperware@live.com.au Im located in Canberra, hope to get them posted? Postcode 2600
  5. just in reference to the 90rwkW My 100% stock L24e (in a R30 skyline) made 52 killa wasps at the tread,... a mate bolted a turbo to his, non-intercooled, just a turbo and pipe to throttle body, made 104kw. so for the number you are getting is actually quite impressive!
  6. For us nutters interested in boosting this monster, do you know whaat the current compression ratio is>?
  7. The manifolds are basically the same, some have different cast numbers and no discernable difference. There is a L28et USDM version that has the 4 bolt turbo flange sitting about 10cm further forward, to stop the steering linkages/box/stuff in the LHD version of the car it came from (either a 280zxt or some laurel luxo barge) they all bolt up to wach other though, I know as i have done it! The EFI intake manifolds are another story, all are different, the best is the L28et, worst is the L20et (after 5000rpm it falls flat on its arse and wont rev anymore... bags of lowdown torque though, due to the long narrow runners) The L20et head is complete rubbish (stamped '05L')
  8. Can someone please raise steve?? Im still keen on the bits he has listed here... my current tyres are shegged and can get some good deals on 14x9's
  9. I have played with the AFM spring tension a fair bit, im now getting a constant 600km to a tank instead of the usual 400 or LESS my dyno sheet before hand was showing MUCH richness through the whole range, a guy said if i put 6psi turbo setup through it it would run better and more economy! car is a bit boggey in the revs up to 2500, then after that a nice kick in the back and woosh! can sit at 110km/h without hitting the 'sweet spot' and have that reserved for overtaking or switch the overdrive off
  10. I threw out 3 L20aet's in the last 2 years, basically the turbo version has a higher volume oil pump and the dissy shaft to suit the CAS-in-dissy type ECCS setup. the (rubbish) O5L head and the piston combo make for a 7.5:1 comp ratio, so you can faily bag in as much boost as you like just as long as you can tune it! with exhaust and intake cleanup, L20et makes 100kW at the treads on 14psi and VG30et injectors and VG30 turbo, 130kW was made by Nick (stagefumer) in NZ I have also seen a R30 skyline, stock ECU and injection etc, just a turbo and a 'j-pipe' no intercooler, made 110kW as is. (richen the buggery out with the afm though) I think in the USA on hybridz a few guys wanted to get the L20a and some specific crank & rod combo makin 10.1:1 ratio and race balance everything for a high pitched screemer N/A engine. sounded like they were very seriious too... in sayin gall that i dont know anything about the non-turb L20
  11. Have you had much interest in the L28et manifold?? Seems like no-one wants them when they are available, then when they do come out they are hard to sell!
  12. Interested in these parts Can you please supply Pic of rims in current condition. Also state pickup location. Regards, MAG86
  13. are there any pics floating around with it on a car? (installed)

  16. Could you please provide a model number, Im interested to see if this will go into my L24e powered R30 skyline. It has the 3 speed but with additional overdrive and slips in and out in all gears in the morning on the way to work!
  17. Cheers for the replies! Is there anyone going to the Show&Shine with a 280zx? I actually have never ridden in one! hint hint.... I was going along with the SkylinesAustralia crew, with the R30 sitting amongst the rest, bit of a 'History' display R30, R31, R32 R33 (eugh..) and the 34 In the wanderings I will make sure to cruise by and say hello
  18. Could you please weigh the FG lip and provide dimensions? I am in Canberra 2600
  19. Hi all, Quick intro, Im currently in Canberra, originally from Hobart, then Melbourne for 5 years. Been into L series skylines for a few years, love the reliability. At the moment drive a R30 Skyline Hatch, Ti auto. Cant break it ( apart from slipping auto trans!) Have been looking for a Z for ages, have found a few good 280zx, but not many good 240/260. I have decided for the first Z resto/project it will be a 280zx, as im a sucker for the '80s styling and retro coolness more than the 'classicness' of carbies etc. I have one 280zx lined up, needs a fair bit done. Im curious to the history and model number designation, as Im not too familiar. It is a HGS130 2+2, built 6/1979, 5 speed manual, gold in colour, tan/beige interior, not to cracked either. As an asking price, well I have made a good offer to the owner and he has agreed. The end result will hopefully be a mock-up 10th Anniversary/ Black & Gold but as a 2+2. and possible boosted as i have 2 complete turbo conversions saved away for the R30 or other projects!
