The Z I was looking at got a deposit on it the night before I flew to Hobart to check it out. Most annoying. Still went down, said hi to the family etc. The Z31 was sold for $2500, had leaking injectors but also a 14 year history record, most recent service included full brakes, steering rack, tyres, recoed En741b Auto tranny.... So for my next daily/mini project is either a non- running 1979 280zx 5 speed (needs clutch, full service and safety cert etc, prob about $2000 worth to pass), OR a Z31 that needs a new starter motor and TLC, (and about $500 to pass safety cert) 280zx is a grand 300zx is a 'your kidding i'll buy it' still thinking about it though. for the price of either i could sink it into the R30 and it would be well and truly on its way to being finished... to be continued

Looks good! as for fire hazard, I have seen a set of filters go up in flames on the dyno, on a 180b SSS (L18?) there are some that are on the market that are shyte, then some that are not.... got no-idea which is which though...

I'll send up a unit out of a R30 Skyline Ti soon hopefully. AND where is the best place to get the gasket & filter kits?

you are quite a useful fella! auto valve bodies AND intake manifold porting! Im going to have to start up an account with you. THere are about 6 or 7 intake fannymoulds that I know of, and some have no webbing, but have heaps of anit- pollution or something. I dont see any real gain in having it on there apart from protecting the injectors from the exhaust fannymould. Im interested in a auto valve body still, and very possibly a sandblasted & ported intake manifold, matched to my KA24e Throttle body (65mm or something) I will double check during the week, but I will have some invoices goin gthrough and scrounge up some cahs for ya. Let me know what you want

why not get them powdercoated, then once hardened after a few days, get the lip machined on a wheel balancer.... or get in contact with this guy, he is a pro. I have a few invoices waiting to be payed, once thats done I;ll let you know and arrange payment. I think the valve bodies are the same throughout the 4n71b range, just the solenoids differ from vehicle to vehicle. some are hydraulic controlled and thge later R31/Z31 have an extra computer too.

roah!!! Im in, pending nothing else breaks on the R30... This month alone, 2 leaking injectors, arcing spark leads, leaking auto, flatspotted tyres, rear wheel bearings, rear R180 diff mount, big exhaust leak under the auto (fumes in cabin)... It will nearly be cheaper to buy a whole other car! Good opportunity to re-fit the factory exhaust extraction fan on the manifold... har har

Currently looking at getting a Z31 Californian, as a daily... stay tuned (is in getting inspection) For what they are, and the cost etc, its a pretty good setup, couldnt get much better for $4k...

$100 exchange is quite reasonable, VERY reasnoable infact. Sounds good, count me in. I know of a R30 Ti getting stripped, might put a bid in for the valve body. Just a quick question, are there differences between different year or vehicles? Like: VG30e 300zx Z31 L24e R30 Skyline L28 280zx As I do have access to a Z31 that is for sale VERY cheap, it has receipts for a fully rebuiilt auto a few months ago, $2500 rebuild seems like it will last a good 15 years more than my 160,000km unit!

I have run 8psi on a mates factory L28e 280zx, heres the recepie VL turbo injectors (hose tail) about 265cc each RB20det turbo, modified R32 split stainless dump (like 'N*Power' brand on ebay) to 2.75 full system L-series turbo manifold XR6 turbo intercooler (cheap on ebays) hobbs switch and water injection (comes on at 3 psi) brass nozzle and parallel washer pumps adjust the AFM spring tension (looser) lock dissy, Premium at all times, and a knock box (detects pinging and flashes big LED say 'slow the F down') this setup made 130kw all day every day, on the factory ECU and everything. It is a bit basic, but sure beats the 65kw figure before hand! An aftermarket ECU will make things ALOT easier, and safer...

Just out of interest, whats the current market value for a 280zx these days?

Pauly i seriously hope you are joking! Spamming like this is a VERY good way to obtain info on a target and exploit them. ID theft is super easy, especially once you have bank account details, address, car regos, vin numbers, names, numbers etc... Trust me, after taking part in a few investigations on these type of scams, it is popping up so much more nowdays there isnt enought man power to stop it. Last person I tacked ended up being a brazilian exchange student in london, useing a travel agents logon details and from an internet chatroom nextdoor to a western union money transfer branch. He did the whole 'please help' routine, then tried to sell me his 'uncles' prado in adelaide, for UNDER $10,000, so that the Aus Govt wont lodge it as a high end risk etc. i could go on forever. makes me mad.
